there are basically two methods of having children, the first is more or less marriage, a man and a woman live together and raise the child together as best they can. the other is basically the old pump and dump, fuck a girl and leave. Do that as much as possible to ensure that you will have at least a couple children to survive into adulthood. Both are proven to exist in nature, and have their own variable degrees of success.
So what happens is back in the day, We used the first method, raising the child together, typically with marriage. but now, it's leaning toward the second method, with outrageous promiscuity. the reason divorce is so high, is because those women basically programmed their brain to be inclined to the second method rather than to first, they were never meant for marriage in the first place, so any and all attempts will always fail.

So the funny thing is, we've seen this trend before, in soviet russia.
One of the big things with communism was the "free-love" kind of thinking, fuck anyone and everyone, abortion was decriminalized and birth control was flowing like candy.What ended up happening was a HUGE spike in single motherhood. the children of which would frequently run out and live on the streets, keep in mind this was soviet fucking russia. they would rather live out on the streets than with their single mother.
A second interesting effect is that men would marry women, during the planting season, have her and her children work on the farm, then come harvesting season they would divorce her, and take it all for themselves. it became so bad that eventually the soviets walked back and re-criminalized abortion, birth controll and made divorces almost impossible to come by.
So honestly thats more or less what is likely to happen. I'd say within the next...30 years we will be in a similar situation, single motherhood being the norm and the country going to fucking hell, before it gets fixed again.
