There isn't really any theological difference. Both Sunnis & Shias believe in Allah & His prophets (from Adam to Muhammad).

In the beginning, their differences comes from the difference concerning the first caliphate; Sunnis believe that Abu bakr is the rightful successor (because he had a Shura aka council) and was one of the closest friend Muhammad had before his death while Shias believe that 'Ali ibn Abu Talib, the cousin of Muhammad is the rightful successor.

Basically the main difference is concerning the caliphate, but there are some differences in their rituals; Shias pray 3 times the 5 prayers while Sunnis pray 5 times a day for each prayer. Some Sunnis also blame Shias for being too much focused on 'Ali while he was an imam and give to him too much 'divinityé (because they avoid representing his face while he was no more than a great man and an imam)
