And I downloaded my raw DNA and both 23andme, Ancestry and MyHeritage think I'm completely different people. As I had widely differing results, so I'm not afraid of people who haven't concretely done anything with said DNA.

I did 23andme, was fine, but i wished the results were more specific. You get shit like "40% broadly European", it's really non-specific. But it's fine if all you want to do is verify you aren't black or Jewish. And also it is pretty useful for tracking down long lost relatives, my friend found his father through there.

I have no proof of anything nefarious, but I'd imagine it's probably not the best idea to send in your DNA to random companies claiming to send you actual results of your ancestral genes.

Depends on which service you are using. I wouldnt touch 23andme with a 15 foot pole but Ancestry is ok.
