That is due to pedestrian impact laws that have made the front of cars look shittier since the late 2000s.

My latest japbox pulls looks, and it was even cheap. Last time I was in NYC and I parked it in front of a fire hydrant to load/unload the cops wanted to chat about it and called off the tow truck waiting around the corner.

That's not really why I bought it, but it doesn't look like that kind of a fagblobmobile I guess.
>>
Nothing stops you from buying an old car.
>>
>>135410616
Japanese didn't ruin cars. Safety regulations and EPA fuel economy regulations did.

There's only so different that a wind-tunnel designed and soft edged/gently sloped vehicle can look like.
>>

muh gas mileage means everything has to be 120% aerodynamic
the result is everything looks retarded and there are no sharp edges

believe me there are designers that are trying to make these things tolerable but the gas mileage shit comes first because women and idiots will buy whatever ugly piece of shit they throw out if it saves them 50 bucks a year

Hypermiling does work tho. You can cut your fuel bills by 30-40% if you know how to do it.

Just by drafting the car infront of you at highway speeds you get a 20% reduction in fuel usage.

Most fuel wastage is from cars stopping and starting in the cities. If vehicles are in a constant state of motion they are the most fuel efficient.

Also, slow steady acceleration.

I usually just hoon my car because I'm not a jew though.

I live in a city, so I don't use it for much other than getting groceries. Everything other than maybe two or three tanks a year is long-distance driving.

My fuel bills are nothing. I made it a priority to not have to drive to work or suffer on a bus or whatever. Last car came apart because it just was too old even if it should have lasted another 100k miles.

I drive a car similar to pic. 6 speed manual, a supercharger on it probably around 450 hp I would imagine, haven't done a dyno test. It's very fun to drive and imo it looks nice, hasn't been totally ruined by regulations and pussification. I also like to look of the Mustang and Corvette, though I think the Camaro could look less like a McDonalds toy. These cars are out right now and I get 28 mpg on the highway if I don't drive like a hyperbro, the Corvette can get over 30. Subaru WRX looks great, the BRZ/FR-S look great, the fiat spider looks great, though I am too tall to comfortably fit in it. The new Mazda MX-5 looks good (especially the RF). There are others like the Audi S5 which are alright, and have great power and interior design as well. The cars are out there, it's just everything that poorfags and betacucks are marketed are these bland fucking nonsense cars.

"I just want a car to get to and from work!" Yeah me too, and it also has a shitload of power so I can have fun. Fuck, for most people in the US the prospect of a manual transmission is too much to fathom, like it requires a special amount of brainpower to operate. You just need to not suck at driving, but when you have people who can't fucking wait for their cars to drive them wherever they ask it to go and trust in automation while looking away from the road and sipping their coffee you will get nowhere making the argument that cars shouldn't be neutered faggoty bullshit.

Probably a really fucking fun car to drive

Had a Subaru I got from my grandfather, 1989-2013 in all, and the only repair it ever needed was changing front suspension. The technology is almost bomb-proof.

I have a 2015 white Jetta SE with the Audi engine, and I love the look. There's something about VW/Audi, that their cars always look best in white.

Watch a movie from the 80s and 90s and tell me the cars were so badass. If you want the stylistic apex of automobiles, you have to go all the way back to the 50s and 60s, before the 70s oil crisis and when gas was cheap as water.

Are you people fucking braindead?

The robust nature of Japanese cars forced American manufacturers to make decent, reliable cars.

European shit still breaks all the time. Germany is the best over there by far, but even their shit breaks because they're socialist faggots who have to support their network of mechanics. Either that, or the krauts can't make a god damn electrical system.

GM has caught up in their SUV and light truck line, and many of Ford's vehicles until recently were designed by Mazda, but Japan made cars that you don't have to take into the shop once a month, and that's pretty okay with me.

Japanese cars are great, they don't start falling apart after 2 years and are charmer to fix becuase of standardized long model use parts.
The Detroit-Jew caused no one to want thier shitty planned obsolescence buy-a-new-one all the time con anymore in the 1980s. And instead of fixing thier business modal they spent millions buying congress for tariffs on imports and spreading FUD about auto unions, and gave themselves a raise, enough though German auto workers make more money and sell more cars.
To be fair American modals have finally gotten better by copying the japanese but fuck you if you actully want to go back to the shitty models they used to make

So in other words tailgating. Like when they hit the brakes and you can't stop in time. Or when other cars try to merge into traffic but can't, thus causing a traffic jam. Or when Sally soccer mom slows down to gawk at the accident that you caused, but the entire highway grinds to a halt because everyone is tailgating.
