The actual game play is horribly boring, but the developers were smart enough to make it autopilot through most of it (can just alt tab, sit back and watch a movie while mining or travelling for 8 hours cuz you ship sucks)... Back when my ubermench gaming rig was still operating I used to casual play eve in the background while focusing on Wow. The way it works is skill progression happens on a timer so you don't have to grind for that. Getting gear is important too though, but you can trade/scam/etc. your way once you learn the ropes, especially if you make useful friends.

No, it depended on balancing the two fresh water pools (arcum and falcorn), when one goes down the other one is up so its constant fishing (use rainbow chum).
Used to be 30g per fish (drops 3 fishes each 100 labor to pick up) now its about 22g per fish.

A lot of people will tell you about labor efficient ways of earning money but that's all bullshit unless you can dump 20k labor a day into it. This is something where you can dump a lot of labor and still have a decent silver per labor ratio.

You don't have to play a lot to get strong (skills train in real time), and you can semi afk for decent money if you get into a good nullsec corp.
