At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if McCain said "No" for shits and giggles, to spite Trump because he hates him or because he legitimately wants the bill to get better. What matters is that he saved healthcare for tens of millions of people and assured that there won't be a healthcare reform within the next fiscal year. Press B to bless McCain.

Yeah, you faggots should probably read up on this because he literally just fucked tens of millions of people.

>Forbes

>Obamacare actually is in trouble and is being held together only by illegal payments.

>In addition to the exits that have already occurred, Humana is leaving for 2018; Molina (a big player) and Anthem (a very big player) are seriously threatening to leave for 2018. These are credible threats. Who would stay in a system in which historically you have lost money when the Executive branch, following in the footsteps of the Obama administration, which to liberal silence refused to enforce the employer mandate properly for its first two years, is now going to enforce only weakly the individual mandate? Moreover, Obamacare has depended on its success for the past three years on illegal payments made by the Obama executive branch to insurers: tens of billions in cost sharing reduction payments not authorized by Congress and the diversion of $5 billion required by statute to go to the Treasury into the hands of insurers. If President Trump does not become part of the same hypocrisy and stops these cost sharing reduction payments and seeks refunds of the $5 billion from insurers, Obamacare becomes yet more fragile.

He's a senile man on his way out and just made sure you leftie fucks without jobs would die along with him, the ultimate kamikazee

Trump doesn't decide how money is spent. Even if every taxpayer paid the full fine, it still wouldn't cover half of the cost of the increase in medicaid.

The program was never really supposed to work anyway. It was always going to lead to huge premium increases. The point was to use the huge premiums to motivate people to vote for single payer.

Fuck the majority of citizens though if can whine and throw a tantrum loud enough to get what you want that's all that matters, amirite?

Now insurers are bailing out, literal healthcare monopolies (illegal in the US) have already formed in states and this is a "win" in liberals minds somehow. And you wonder why people think you idiots are suicidal.

How about the Republicans actually NEGOTIATE with the Democrats on coming up with something and trying to force it through? Make those damn deals they promised us.

With enough money faking one's death is easy, especially if someone else is paying for it.

The timing of his cancer is incredibly convenient since it was exactly when the plug was pulled on CIA operations in Syria supporting ISIS, which McCain's foundation has played a large role in.

You democrats do realize that in 2018 most providers will leave the market place or are ready to, the tax laws will go in motion and care will be MORE expensive, right?

Say what you want about Trump, or Republicans in general, but McCain just put you guys on a train to fail-town. Literally the thing Democrats COULD run on just blew up. Part of the reason Trump won so many blue wall states was the Obamacare premium increases. Now that there will be less providers, even higher costs than before, you literally gave republicans and him mandates for 2018 and 2020, while simultaneously putting another nail in the Obamacare coffin.

Christ, all you had to do was come to the table and negotiate and you would of had SOMETHING to run on. Here's a recap in case you've had your head lodged in your rectum:
>Arguing like fucking children makes you look dumb to normal people
>Economy and Jobs are going in Trumps favor
>Trump IS living up to his promise on keeping our dick out of the hornets nest that is Syria while kicking up the fight against ISIS
>Despite all the noise and shakeups, people still will vote for him

Trump ain't perfect, but he's latched on to a message he's VERY good at delivering, and this time for once it's the truth. Politicians are playing business as usual and fucking Americans, and he's there to drain it.

Trumps a shit head but you guys are flat out wrong to think he won't use this to negotiate later. Just imagine the mandate he'll have next year to get this done.

The entire bill, the way it was created, and how it would be implemented, was collectively agreed upon to be a piece of shit. No one other than millionaires and Trump cucks who agree with him on everything wanted it. Dems have always been available for working together, they did it for their own bill, and they want to do it for this one. Republicans are just shit, and are more focused on getting rid of anything that says "Obama" on it than actually representing their constituents.

And no fucking wonder Dems boycotted Trump's nominations, Flynn and Preibus have already been fired, Sessions is on his way out (Sessions and Flynn btw being investigated for undisclosed contact with hostile foreign agents), and then there's people like DeVos who got in exclusively by having money, and who have no knowledge of what they're being nominated for.

Senate Repubs were in a tight spot, faced with a pants-on-head insane bill from the rabble in the House. They had spent too long making repeal a red-meat issue with the demented idiot wing of their base to simply do nothing.

So they slapped together some half-assed legislation that wouldn't pass muster with their small crew of wing-nuts, and it died. Then they put together some utterly garbage half-measure, and killed it in a "Close Vote" using the 3 GOP Senators who would take the least amount of career damage from torpedoing it.

The problem they have now is that they both desire to maintain their majorities, but also realize they might actually have to do positive reform on the nation's healthcare, which will greatly upset the check-writers that fund their majority. Mitch doesn't want to be the Minority Leader again, but it was a lot comfier than the bed of nails he's on right now.

We should restructure health care in a way that works for the american people.

Here are my proposals:

1. Buy in for medicare. If you had insurance that meets the minimum standards for the 6 months prior to buying in, you are covered instantly. Otherwise there's a 6 month waiting period after buying in before you're covered. This is to prevent abuse.

2. End indefinite intellectual property rights in this country. Technically there are limits on how long intellectual rights can be enforced, but the limits are constantly expanded, and pharmaceutical companies find ways to repackage the drugs to renew their patents. If we end intellectual property abuse, and institute a flat 20 year period during which your intellectual rights on a product are enforced, the pharmaceutical industry would be a lot more competitive, and prices would drastically fall. Consider for example that I pay 60 dollars for an inhaler that costs 5 dollars in the U.K. The price increase is entirely due to intellectual property protections preventing competition.

3. Increase budget for detecting medicare and healthcare fraud. People taking advantage of government programs on both a corporate and individual level is contributing to the rising cost of health care in this country.

But come on man. Did you hate Obamacare for it's "secrecy"? This GOP bill was written pretty much exclusively by McConnell and a handful of others. Trump only promoted it with vague statements, and talked shit behind closed doors. Socialism is the collective or government ownership of the means of production. Roads and other public goods simply don't fit under that definition, as they're not used to produce anything, and the government sometimes doesn't even own the means to produce them.

This guy explains it better: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/425799/notes-ridiculous-meme-charles-c-w-cooke

Even public health care isn't necessarily socialism, if it's accomplished via a simple redistribution of wealth.
>>
>>135397472
While he saved it for tens of millions, he ruined it for 100's of millions. People cannot afford to pay their premiums, their deductibles are so high they are useless. People do not even have $500 saved up for emergencies, how are they going to pay a $5000 deductible?
>>
>>135420956
Well, that's just arguing semantics to be honest. Police / fire / roads / etc. are socialistic programs where people come together to fund.

The point is they are created from a socialistic point of view, not a capitalistic one.
>>
>>135405138

>>135420137
They kept throwing ways to destroy Obamacare and then acting all high and mighty when Obama blocks them. Now that it's time to actually offer a better substitute, they have nothing and exclusively want to repeal it without offering a better alternative. They had 8 years to think of something, as you said.
Perhaps Trump believed them and that's why he's so confused now. He thought they had the answers and all they needed was a leader to give them power, but all they had were empty promises. The two party system must improve.

You know to be honest I think Trump and the Republicans have a better chance to get a super majority in 2018 if Obamacare is still the problem. Otherwise people would, quite sensibly, be blaming Republicans for the next year or so of medical insurance problems.

Thanks McCain.

The longer Republicans can run on "Help us fix what the Dems did to healthcare" the more elections they'll win.

>>135397472

>>
>>135420272
I just don't get how it can be justified. For all the talk that Obamacare was done in the dark, there was no discussion, etc., this was literally drafted by like 5 or 6 people. Republican senators being interviewed have openly admitted they had no input and don't know what's in it. That's insane to me.

And there was absolutely no point to it. If they had just taken an extra 6 months, and had token Democrat opinions, they could have maybe gotten something together.

But instead they pissed around for 7 years, and instead of admitting they have no clue, they tried to rush a shitty bill as quick as possible, hoping no one would find out or stop them.
>>
>>135421189
Yes, it is semantics, and because words mean things, it's important to make sure you use the right ones. Those public goods are not socialist in any way, they're necessities to grease the wheels of a capitalist economy, paid for by taxes, which themselves are not socialist.

>>135418548
If the government owns the providers of care, as it does in the UK and Canada (or in the case of the VA in the US), it would be socialist. If the government subsidizes the cost of using private healthcare companies, it is not socialist.

Although the National Defense Authorization Act was a key item on the agenda for McCain, Paul stepped in to block the bill by requesting two amendments be added to the legislation, namely one on prohibiting indefinite detention and one on the authorization of the use of military force to fight the Islamic State.

>Health insurer Anthem is pulling out of Ohio's Affordable Care Act marketplace, a move that leaves people in a fifth of the state's counties facing the prospect of having zero insurers selling individual marketplace plans in their area next year.

No it isn't. The countries you are referring afford that through taxation. Noone is being given anything. Also, you debate this matter under the pretense that everyone is using the ACA. That's bullshit, too. The ACA covers maybe 15% of our population. The demand would be even lower if you remove single person plans where the purchaser doesn't/can't actually use the plan because the plans are garbage. Furthermore, if you are insuring a family through obamacare you fucked up. You fucked your family over with poor planning and shortsightedness.

Yes in coal country, where Obama shut down all the mines, whites are suffering, but unlike spics and niggers they don't think that handouts are a right.

The real thing is that Mccain might have accidentally saved the republicans and Trump. Had the repeal been reamed through, it would've given Democrats a taking point they can rally behind, unlike know where their is divisions whether they should go for the middle class or care about transgenders in the military.

Now if and when Obamacare stumbles, the republicans can simply blame Democrats for not negotiating with them, and say to their voters (who many of which are partisan) that more republicans can outweigh the 2 republicans (seeing as Mccain doesn't have long) that vote against their peers.
>>
>>135429669
There's certainly at least some truth to what you say. I'm convinced that there would be a lot of Republicans having a real hard time in 2018 if they managed to pass this repeal. In saving Obamacare, he may have also saved the Republican senate.
>>
>>135397472
>saved healthcare for tens of millions of people

This statement shows how retarded you are.

Obamacare offers health insurance, not healthcare. You may have health Insurance under Obamacare but many cant afford to use it. Many of the exchanges within the next 2 years will have one or zero choices for insurgence providers. The deductible and premiums will be so high yo might as well have nothing. The Dems want to put everyone on medicare, with the government controlling how much hospitals get in payment through your gubbament handout it means less quality care, coverage, innovation and an overall a shit system. Think more along the lines of the VA medical care.

If you think Obamacare is a "win" for anyone but slugs who don't work and neets who don't have any money your a moron.
>>
>>135397737

Yeah he did save our asses, but he likes to say one thing and do another.

>>
>>135429904
It is unfortunate, failure shouldn't be rewarded but it is.

Probably the reason why Trump is saying 'Let it fail', because the republicans have basically killed Obamacare in all but name by taking out the mandate, so simply watching it burn with the name "Obamacare" will make the average joe blame the party that gave them Obama rather than the party that killed the bill

Obama went against them with a) his ambivalence/ courage against Israel b) his healthcare reforms helping poor people out and costing a load of money. I'm not saying Obama was a good guy, there hasn't been a good US President (uncontrolled) in the last couple of centuries, and when good ones appear (Kennedy, Lincoln) they get offed quickly for not toeing the line.

Just a reminder, obamacare fucked anyone employed/with a job, anyone who had a better health plan before it was enacted, and anyone who pays deductibles for the health care.
