When I was in 6th grade I learned about genetics before learning about how eugenics is bad. I still believe in eugenics because biologically it makes sense: why let people with degenerative genetic diseases reproduce and create children who are carriers and could also suffer? Shouldn't we be breeding ourselves to being the smartest and most fit?

Also thought genetic modification was cool shit and wanted to become a geneticist. Got those dreams smashed in high school when I found out everything I wanted to do was unethical and 'evil' and lost direction and purpose in my life. It did make me look at the world at a strange biological finality, so things like race stats and other things made it clear that the races weren't equal and there was a reason white people and western civilization was so successful.

I really wish I didn't get disheartened about ethics but I was a stupid teenager. I wonder if I can still do it and become a geneticist like I wanted. I probably will never get a eugenic program going but I can accept that.
