It's not synth like the 80s though. Back then they made songs that had drums, bass, strings, reeds, guitar and then a singer. All synth but the singer and usually not very good, though some gems are still built around that structure and some people still make music this way, though it doesn't get promoted at all.
Today it's FL Studio drums to a breakdown with a subwoofer bass (no actual bass) and just one other cheap melody piece that repeats over and over and over and over and over again.
It's as low effort as is humanly possible without letting an AI compose it.

I listen to Scandinavian metal, mostly melodic death like CoD, Wintersun, Insomnium, Before the dawn, Meadows End, Sabaton etc. What I like about this music is that it is melodic and brutal. It is not easy to play, it's not retarded. Lyrics is not some stupid everyday shit about love, sex and other bullshit, but it can be something about battles of the past, about brave and strong men when they weren't cucked. Rap is crap for simpleminded
