I don't know the full story, but some of the deeper conspiracy theories say the nazis didn't really lose the war. They won the war in an alternate timeline, but something happened and the timeline where the nazis won collapses. To prevent that from happening again, they had to come to this timeline and lose the war on purpose or something. I don't fully understand how timelines function, but apparently Hitler, Goebbels, and other major nazi figures still exist in their own pocket dimension.
