In light of the whole tranban in the military I've been pondering a very interesting question. Should the procedures (which can cost in the tens upon tens of thousand of dollars) be considered healthcare; therefore partially covered by taxpayers and the government?
Or should it be regarded as a cosmetic surgery? That being the procedures are superficial in nature and have little connection to personal health and functionality.
I'm getting censored on reddit for even trying to ask this question. Got banned from political discussion for 3 days because a mod told me he was offended by my "uncivil" question.

Cosmetic as it is not life threatening. And one could argue that the person experiencing gender dysphoria becomes disabled after such a procedure because nobody wants to hire a tranny.
I include hrt and estrogen treatments as cosmetic.

Well, considering it doesn't actually "cure" the person of their issues, but masks them... I would venture to say yes. The rates of suicide and depression are still high among trans people who actually get the surgeries done. If it only changes the appearance and doesn't have solid results of it fixing the problem, it's cosmetic.

SRS should be banned until major scientific progress occurs, but HRT is easily under the realm of healthcare. Trans prople who are denied HRT usually kill themselves or become disgusting 40-50 y/o "girls" that prevail as the stereotype.
The solution is giving HRT to proven transgender people at around 16, when the condition can be verified but not too old to make HRT ineffective.
Stop LARPing with "ree kill all trannies", killing the mentally ill is something that does not happen in civilized white countries
