Mccain=democrat now?

Does anyone else find it strange that before being diagnosed with brain cancer, John McCain had been slowly becoming more and more buddy buddy with democrats? 8 years ago this man would hardly come to be seen in the same picture with a Democrat. Now that he has actually been diagnosed with cancer and had a piece of brain matter removed, he actually sided with democrats going against his largest campaign promise to constituents.

Is this proof that having a reduced brain capacity causes more democratic leaning ideals? Possibly that most democrats have brain cancer? Or is it just the voters in his constituency have been neoconned out of their vote one again?
