The Allies should have rejected German Armistice and accepted only unconditional surrender in the wake of the wildly successful Hundred Days Offensive. The German myth that militarily they had won lead to world war 2.

Up until that point they were at a military stalemate that had lasted years. They btfo of France so badly that it took them 2 generations to recover. They realized however that victory was impossible, and declared an Armistice before the war could push into Germany and tear the country apart which was at that point a given to happen if it continued.
If the Allies rejected the armistice then the war would have ground on for perhaps another year, with casualties going from abysmal to purely catastrophic for the allies as they began to push into fortified German territory. With the French being as low on manpower as they were and the British beginning to seriously flag the only group left to carry the war would be the Americans, and they didn't give a fuck enough to be there in the first place.
