My family saved for college (imagine that) and put 3 kids through public and private schools for zero debt at the end of the day.

I don't understand people that go to a 4 year school on debt. At least take 2 years working and doing CC?

And on top of that, even though I could have taken a shit no pay degree since it didn't cost me anything, I went STEM.

Liberal arts majors and morons that place far too much of their worth on what is largely a worthless piece of paper. Moreover, current system is designed to make students take shitloads of classes that aren't relevant to the major. 30~50% of credits taken in universities today are of no relevance to the degree they're for. You want that framed piece of cardboard with fancy writing on it? Take 2 different racial and ethnic diversity courses, 4 art courses, 2 political indoctrination philosophy courses, one semester of "Privilege and you: Why you should let others step over you because of your whiteness"and 1 seminar on identifying gender.
All of that adds up.

High pay? Yes
Respectable? Yes
It all boils down to the student and how they work. At most the degree gets your foot in the door, and in some cases a bit of experience and contacts. In most jobs, if at the end of the day the employee delivers, it doesn't matter where they went to school.

Canadian plumber here. I was out on a job all day so I had no time to post. Getting real sick of the imposters here. I guess it's really fun that I'm making bank while you're masturbating to cartoon women.

Anyway, got a call from some granny yesterday. The water in her toilet wouldn't stop running and she thought there was something wrong so she called me (big mistake). All I had to do was readjust the levers which would normally take me 2 min. I told her she needed a brand new toilet and charged her over $800 with parts and labour. She murmured something about not being to afford heating this winter but I just laughed and left without a word. Before I left I also loosened some of the pipes under her kitchen sink. Like clockwork she called me back there next day saying her kitchen flooded. Once I stopped laughing I drove over in my van and charged her over $10k to fix everything and drain the water. She cried and said she would have to sell the house to pay for everything. I bought her house for pennies on the dollar that I made scamming other "customers" (seniors are the best). I then evicted her and flipped the house for some mad gains. As I was driving to a job I'm pretty sure I saw some old lady sleeping in the streets that kind of looked like her. I asked her is she needed plumbing services and gave her my card.

Stay poor. You have to be brutal to make it.

Single moms are also a goldmine.

I once went answered a call about low water pressure in the shower. As soon as I entered the household I saw kids toys everywhere and the whole place was a mess. The mom looked tired as shit (not pun intended) and like she's just had enough. I locked myself in the bathroom and masturbated for about an hour. I then came out and told her everything was fine now. Charged her $400. She handed over the money and turned away. I could hear her sobbing as I walked out the door.

About an hour later I got a call from her saying that the water pressure is still low. I asked her if she's a plumber. Then I told her that it is fine and I spent an hour adjusting the hydrological control gauge and that she should be happy it is still working. I told her I felt sorry for her and gave her a discounted rate. She was so happy she even left a positive review on my website!

For all you honest tradesmen - stop it. You ruin it for the rest of us. You want early retirement, don't you?

I had a scam like this when I was in high school the last few years.

I owned a YouTube subnetwork, meaning I could sign channels up to a revenue sharing platform, in which they traded a portion of their channel's revenue for """channel growth services""" and other bullshit.

The premise was easy. Add thousands of minecraft letsplayers on Skype, tell them I can make them the next pewdiepie, and proceed to take 60% of their channels revenue and do nothing. It went really well and I'm still living off the gains, even a year after subnetworks were shutdown.

Free university in Scotland, now I'm doing a phd in America where they bank roll you (using undergrads' fees kek).
So after living expenses I have about 10k in the bank
Which is lucky because my degree is philosophy

Not at all

Did electrician as a trade at "community college", hardly paying anything.

Worked for the government in my 20s and now for myself after the army.
>>
>>135298376
>same quality of education
Only edinburgh comes close, and not close to Oxbridge
>>
Started going to university about five years ago.

After a few years I stopped caring and slacked off because I lost interest in studying Astrophysics.

During that time I acquired about $17K in debt.

The debt does not need to start being paid off until I finish or quit school.

I decided to switch my degree to Computer & Electrical Engineering last year.

In the meantime I actually got a great-paying engineering job, even without having any degree yet.

Bought a house.

I have money to pay off my debt but I do not feel like it.

I take one or two courses each semester.

They cannot start collecting on the debt since I am technically still a student.

Not sure if I even still need a degree since I already have the job, though I probably may as well get it since I am about halfway to it.

Redditspacing.

31k? That's like a babby debt if you went to college before you became redpilled ... Which was my fate.

Lotta Grants out there if your a poor fag. I'm paying 0 for trade school, as well as getting 1200 a year and food stamps from the tax payers for me to learn a new trade.
They don't check your assets very well, I used to make a lot of money before immigrant labor took over the low voltage electrician trade and I invested it carefully...
>Why this isn't socialist enough for the leftys I don't understand.
Don't waste your time on degrees that don't pay well and If you don't know what you want to do, or how you can pay for it, then don't go. That's my advice for the younglings.

I dont understand how anyone falls for student loans in the last 20 years. Every person i know with loans is a perpetually stressed out money obsessed nutcase, and the rest of us that just went into on the job training or worked shitjobs to push through some community college certification for a few years seem so much better off.

I don't have a job. I don't have anything. I don't have a car, or a house. They can't take anything from me that I don't have, other than my life. And even then, it's not worth much.

This.
I saved my parents money by working and going to community college for my AA degree, so I paid for that.
Then I took my parents saved college money, went to a great University, paid off, and used the rest of that money to put a down payment on a house I know own debt free (middle aged).
I own my house.
I'm an engineer and I have a good life.
My only regret is getting HIV from a ladyboy in Thailand, and giving it to my wife and daughter.

That's one way to get shot I guess.
>>
I paid 615€ for each of my 5 years, plus 400€ for rent and about 150€ for food / theatre /...
So college was pratically free and I still paid 26k.

I'm sympathetic to that. College was pushed hard in my family and high school even though I sucked at making grades and enjoyed hands on work much more. Gotta go your own way, which is tougher when your a teen.

Look into IT jobs, they pay well and then all you have to do is download chrome for people. You can just chillax at work. My job consists of just resetting printers, Netflix, YouTube, and chatting with people at the cafeteria. I get a 2 hour lunch.

It's because in elementary school you had that college propaganda of... That board game where you can choose to work or go to school. That was basically a go to college or starve. Then in high school you have to apply to x number of colleges to go to prom. Every high school wants people to apply because they get a kick back for every student that goes to college. How else would the system work?
>>
Work while in college... earth shattering idea!

For those saying debt 0€ :
-Have you paid your rent by yourself?
-Have your parents helped you in any way?

I'm an orphan so I had massive gibs from the government, but I still had to work and my school was almost free.
So how did you manage to do without a loan?

xaxa nigger, I used to work in nuclear fusion for $500 a month, then for the same kind of money in your field too (Moscow, им. Хpyничeвa).

But then I went to the army, which was kind enough to teach me c++ and Qt, so now I work for double the pay at a private company, and plan to double that as well in a few years.

Shit's easy.

Thanks for youing me twice. I have friends that will get out of college with 50k+ debt and live in campus. Where I work Thiers a rumour that some of the upper management might leave do to travel reasons. So other managers don't know and talk about quitting and I tell them it was nice working with them. The way I see it the less competition the higher chance of I getting another promotion in under two months is for me.
