The thing about working in a restaurant is usually it's really busy during lunch and dinner rushes, but then there's a lot of downtime the rest of your shift. Supersize Me was a deliberate fraud. He didn't simply follow the rules he claimed (eating only at McD, ordering everything on the menu at least once, supersizing whenever asked), but deliberately drank as much soda as he could between meals, taking 2L bottles with him everywhere.

You have to really work at it to do that much damage to your health that quickly. Just getting your meals from fast food places isn't enough. He force-fed himself enough sugar to cause liver damage.
