Hey /pol/, I'm a serious oldfag (was lurking around when /b/ targeted scientologists) but I've been out for a while and coming back here now. I had a security clearance while in the military and had to dissociate myself from 4chan until it expired since they watch your traffic. I've been watching /pol/ from afar through other sources and was curious about getting back into things.
To start things off, I want to know your opinions on the new trans military ban in the US. I want to see if I want to be part of this board regularly or just go back to /b/ like the old days.
>>
>>135247306
It's no different from banning people from the military for having other physical or mental disorders that could hinder their military performance. Trannies can cry about it all they want; it's purely for practical reasons.
>>
Go back.

Ok dude; appreciate the honesty.
>>
>>135247569
This ofcourse.

And that policys with retarded PC motivation can't hold any water in practical matters.
>>
/b/ is dead, all the old fags are here and at fullpol now.
>>
>>135247569
My wife and I are in the same boat. We are both vets and feel that it's just far too impractical to have them.
My Facebook feed however had far too much autistic screeching for me to care about using the site anymore.
>>
>>135248008
I took a quick glance and it seemed pretty cancer.

It's been 10 years and I never took part of it. I was more concerned about Counter-strike and my freshman classes than to remember the name.

You sound like a fag
you sound like you belong on reddit not /b/
I am also of the chanology era
and you are a fag

I got med boarded out for developing a severe case of celiac disease after being in for 4 years. If the military kicks me out for not being able to provide me gluten free foods, but allows trannies to stay in... thats some nigger shit.
>>
>>135248492
Fair enough. Don't like Reddit though.
>>
>>135248561
Aren't they developing gluten-free mre's and shit? That sucks man.
Wife was med boarded for having depression and anxiety.

You're full of shit. I had a top secret clearance for years and browsed 4chan the entire time. Hell a bunch of people in my shop were fucking /k/ommandos.
>>
>>135247306
Was /b/ always a nude exchange board like it is now?
>>
>>135248937
/b/ literally used to be the very best place on the internet. It was... really something else.
>>
>>135248937
Back in 2007 it was more of a mixed bag. Some early memes, gore, porn. It was very much what the title of "random" suggested.
And if course the old-timey "mods asleep, post cp."
>>
>>135247306
The board is shit as it always was. Still the occasional op but same ol same ol.
>>
>>135248475
It was called chanology you baiting nigger. I'm a newfag (since brexit) and even I fucking know it. Saged.
>>
>>135249103
I agree. Much of "Internet culture" started in /b/ way back in the day.

Did you even see /b/ now?

Also oldfag from /b/, from far before the trollface wars.

Current /b/ is 150% cancer, no meaningful conversation, no thinking, no gems in the rough or pearls in the mud, just constant bottom-tier ultracrap. And edgy porn.

Pol today is like b used to be, with some symbolic pro-nazism on top.

I'm an oldfag (06 and yes I realize exactly how pathetic I am) too, and no. It used to be less porn and more shitposting. It's funny to think about how we would unironically use terms like "epic win" and "over 9000 internets" all the time. I had a bunch of old threads saved up from back then that I lost in a catastrophic hard drive failure. I've still got a couple though. Here's one from when I was on /co/ alot.
>>
>>135247306
I couldn't join because I have pins in my knee and it makes sense that I shouldn't be allowed to join. They could reasonably accommodate me by just making me sit at a desk or some shit, but why even join if you don't get to shoot people?
>>
>>135249205
It's my first day back on 4chan in 10 years. A lot has happened to me since then. People can forget the names of shit.

>>
>>135249364
Also to think we messed around with shit like this for laughs, whilst now we're basically in a state of war for survival of Western civilization. There's a lot more grim faces around here.
>>
>>135249374
I actually still have a couple of "bitches don't know bout my ____" memes.
>>
the list of things that could possibly deny someone from being accepted into the military is pretty fucking long.

this is just one more condition to be added. it makes perfect sense to me, if you're mentally unstable you shouldn't serve. this isn't a jab either. transgenderism is either an issue during development(in a slim minority of cases) which is something we can all agree on that's supported by scientific evidence, orrrrrrr it's something bored depressed people might trick themselves into to try and solve their problems in which case it's a psychological problem. Either way both would be denied the ability to serve. why are so many people letting their hearts speak louder than their brains?
>>
>>135249620
I lurked from time to time but I wasn't visiting the site as often as I wanted.
>>
>>135249687
Very well put. I ageee.
>>
>>135249417
Most people don't join for that reason. Vast majority are there for the benefits (education funding, getting out of the hood, etc.) but I only had an athletic injury in my knee and was almost denied. It's pretty stringent on letting people in.
>>
>>135248191
Yeah my mom said people were whining about it on facebook too. I don't have facebook so fuck if I know (Gen Zyklon fag here (over 18 though)) None of the people my age on notice Twitter seemed to be insanely adamant about the issue though, which I thought was strange. Shows that most people have stopped giving a shit the younger (and consequently more exposed to this shit) they are.

Remember the simpler times? When memes were just jokes on our boards and not internet wide culture phenomenons? When we'd use weaponized autism to track down rapists and animal abusers? When Reddit didn't exist and we all hated Gaia instead.

Time sure does fly doesn't it?

>>

That old chestnut
>>
>>135250528
Mostly just fed up with leftist dogma. Most wouldn't consider themselves conservative, as they mostly just feel atomized by a society that cares nothing about them. They are lost, but are slowly finding a way. This is why so called "e-celebs" are of vital importance.
>>
>>135250610
yea where's the cool secret club all the old fags went to after /b/ got too popular
>>
>>135250613
Fuck dude I used to know how to do that. All I remember was that it needed the use of the alt command for space to get them to line up properly.
>>
>>135247306
Go back we don't want ptsd trannies here
>>
>>135250306
Right in the nostalgia.

Well, back then we didn't have a celebrity push for military staff to be on the government payroll when spending time dilating their bleeding neovaginas. The world has been pushed far and fast. Large-scale intranation violence seemed completely unrealistic then.
>>
>>135247306
As much of a degenerate I believe he is, Gavin McInnes gathered a good collection of info that I recommend people watch.
>>
>>135250613
Wait when did the auto refresh command get out into the UI?
I don't have to spam F5 anymore?
>>
>>135250674
Gaiafags indeed.

>>135250776
This person speaks truth. A new phenomenon from those days is the rise of the right-wing e-celeb. You can probably find a list somewhere. People like Jordan Peterson: https://www.youtube.com/user/JordanPetersonVideos

We also used to laugh at scientology and ideological cultfags. These days we have realized that leftism and islamism is the actual turbo-scientology with a genuine flavor of death, and we're very happy to have tinfoilers like InfoWars on our side. Every bit helps.
>>
>>135247306
this is a kike trying to stir shit about the bullshit trans ban, die and sage nigger
>>
>>135251264
Like, /b/ used to be fucking around in middle school for shits and giggles. Since then we joined the army and went on live-fire deployment in an ideological warzone. Not even joking.
>>
>>135251271
We've also had a massive influx of genuine far-leftists trying to say whatever shit they can to sabotage and shit up the place, like this one. There used to be very little of this, now the board is full of it.
>>
>>135251264
I'm very aware of Jordan Peterson, but thanks though.
It's more of me being outside of /pol/ but still learning about all the leftover dogma and trying to push back.
I was just seeing if /pol/ is as politically incorrect as it's portrayed to be, but to be honest it's very tame (on this thread) compared to the old days of /b/.
>>
>>135250805
I just slowly gravitated away from /b/ as I discovered other boards. Mostly /a/, /v/, and /co/ because that's the kind of shit I like. If I had to guess, I'd say that those of us who didn't grow out of 4chan altogether and/or become normies are probably still around on other boards just hiding our power levels. I know I'm probably going to be here forever because I'm socially awkward, and like I said I fucking hate facebook and other forms of social media.

>>135251259
Much has changed since you've last been here, my friend. We've got all kinds of fancy scripts and tech sorcery to make browsing way easier than it used to be. If you're going to get back into 4chan (at your own risk), I'd recommend getting acquainted with 4chanX. It makes browsing so much more convenient. Also, you know how to lurk, but tread carefully on /pol/ some weird shit goes on here, and it takes getting used to.
>>
>>135251551
God damn it I meant leftist not leftover. Fucking phone...
>>
>>135251592
Well I've grown to seriously hate social media because it's just a circle jerk of self-righteous pandering. It's the whole reason why I came back here (and that I have an expired security clearance and more free to do shit without spooks coming to question me why I'm on a site that is associated with Anonymous).
I appreciate the help and advice friend.
>>
>>135251551
Eh, just taking a breather for old time's sake here. There's plenty of gas the kikes on the board.
>>
>>135251913
Fair enough.
>>
>>135251903
>Well I've grown to seriously hate social media because it's just a circle jerk of self-righteous pandering.

Seriously, what kind of shit were you working on? I knew a bunch of TS cleared people who used 4chan. Nobody ever gave a shit about anything I was doing.

>Well I've grown to seriously hate social media because it's just a circle jerk of self-righteous pandering.

Buckle up. The more you stick around here, the more you'll notice that it's also full of propaganda and carefully curated news stories. Somebody in a thread a while back wrote that being here better than conventional social media because it teaches you to look up things and verify them yourself rather than just relying on news sites and common opinion and I 100% agree. Due to how popular and powerful /pol/ has become in the last couple years, you're going to have to learn to filter out different kinds of bullshit, but it's not that hard once you learn to spot it.
>>
>>135252323
The main problem with me was that the person in charge of monitoring me was a high school friend of my parents and took his job very seriously. He was "looking out for me and my career" by being more diligent, but he didn't get that I wasn't making a career out of intelligence work. I just wanted to serve but was too much of a pussy to be combat arms and too smart to be a supply faggot or some shit like that. Most monitors don't care as long as you aren't doing anything detrimental, but mine tried way too hard to push me into the civilian slide of intel.
>>
I learned a long time ago to never trust any source without verification. That was basically what I always did on Facebook because so many of my retarded friends just share shit without doing a simple Google search.
>>
>>135247306
I don't have a problem with trans people----in general---serving as technical/support roles in the military, but I don't think any transperson with an associated mental illness (such as depression, bipolar disorder, etc) should be allowed into the military, it seems like a risk.

The entire controversy seemed like a distraction desu, especially how it overlapped with the whole "lets fuck Russia for exposing our corrupt system!" schtick that happened in the senate yesterday.
