Why can't the Republicans put up a health care plan that isn't cancer?

Why don't they just get rid of the individual mandate and open up the ability to buy insurance across state lines while creating a public option on the side? So that way the state care takes care of basic needs while those who want higher quality buy private care, which will be vastly superior than it currently is due to having to compete not only with each other but with the public option? Seems like everyone wins except maybe the jew at the top.

This doesn't seem complicated.

Because they're fucking stupid. That's why. Democrats are all pieces of shit, but the ACA was at least a step in the right direction.
