Old enough to look back over my time smoking weed, when I stopped smoking weed, and then getting back into again. It's not harmless. It makes you lazy and almost completely incapable of being productive. When I smoked I was a degenerate that hung out with drug dealers, doing petty crimes. I stopped smoking when I got arrested, had to take drug tests and find a new job. Pushed really hard and got a masters degree and a great job. I started smoking recently and I see myself slipping back to my old ways....

I smoked weed every day for three or four years. Shit makes you dumb and not feel like doing anything. I couldn't even play games or watch anime after it got really bad. Quitting was easy though.

The University of Cambridge in the UK did a study on this (you can look it up, it was published 3 or 4 years ago) where they had 4 groups of students.
Group 0 = control group, just everyday students that were not pot smokers.
Group 1 = Light recreational smokers, only allowed to have one joint a week.
Group 2 = Everyday light users, only allowed one joint at breakfast.
Group 3 = Every day heavy users, five joints, one at each meal and two coffee (tea?) breaks.

Group 0 and 1 brains activity at the end of the semester long study were the same.
Group 2 had a slight variation but no noticeable damage. They believe this was because of the chemical imbalance that THC causes as it slots into receptors of different everyday chemicals the brain uses to function.
Group 3 had nerve ending damage in portions of the brain, being burnt out from over reception.

It certainly can have some side effects for some people. When I first started medical I was trying different strains so I was using almost every day for a few months and I started getting sick in the morning, nausea, though I've actually only thrown up from it twice, looked it up and there's cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome and morning sickness is the first symptom of it before it gets progressively worse. Supposedly it happens more with CBD rich strains, which is what I use for inflammation.

So I cut down to about 3x a week and it's stabilized, and that's enough to keep my autoimmune disease in remission (in combination with methotrexate and humira.. this case just was really hard to treat)

If you eat a full meal of fast food every day you're going to have your cholesterol go through the roof, feel like shit and have inevitable health problems.

Moderation is key, the problem is that people want to use it as an escape constantly. That's not what it's for, but who is going to differentiate between casual use and full blown addictive behavior?
