The British were producing aircraft at a higher rate than the Germans by 1940 and since they were defending could if required simply move their air bases north enough to be out of the range of fighter escorts. However even if Germany could gain air superiority it would mean nothing, Germany had no surface fleet and thus an invasion of England was impossible and strategic bombardment would be unlikely to force the British into submission especially since the Blitz in OTL didn't do that anyway. Furthermore the Germans dedicating such resources to the British isles means that North Africa (which was a lost cause from the start due to British control of the Mediterranean) would fall to the British even sooner.

The US was building liberty ships faster than the Germans could sink them. Beyond that as the war went on ASW tactics became more and more efficient and submarine casualties increased.
