You're correct, YOU don't need a man. However, you're child will. Despite what you think, children need parentS. Emphasis on plural. If you have children, you should be doing what's best for THEM, not you. Educate yourself on the topic and read a number of books about the subject before you decide to deprive your child of a father because of your inability to choose a mature, selfless partner.
