can someone explain to me why we need population growth in places that are already extremely overcrowded? not only that, but the fact that these overcrowded cities are expensive to live in is clearly one of the primary reasons for the lack of growth. importing more people just makes that worse. if we're going to subsidize anything, we should be encouraging our own people to start families rather than subsidizing massive immigration from africa

especially with basic income becoming a necessity within the next few decades, we're just going to end up paying basic income to every non-white who manages to make it to our shores and the system won't be able to handle it

The same could be said for any good or service though when its clearly not true. As population increases things tend to get cheaper in real terms as processes scale up.

The current housing prices are largely a product of government regulation constricting the supply of housing, not increasing population.
