I made $7/hour, plus tips. The "plus tips" bit had me making $13-$16 an hour depending on shift.

I tipped until the past couple of years. I visited Canada and the UK and saw that tipping culture wasn't deeply ingrained there, it wasn't viewed as a requirement.

It's pretty fucked up: Companies defer costs onto their customers to pay their employees.

I can appreciate that people think it's rude to not tip, just like how it's rude to get in someone's face for no reason. But I have my reasons for not tipping, and I think they're pretty rational.
