That's how it works in bella Svizzera too. You get an insurance policy from a private company at birth, and you only can change to another one, but never cancel the policy, as long you reside in this shithole.

The thing is the government is trying to prevent insurance companies from discriminating based on pre-existing conditions. You can't do that withou an individual mandate otherwise people just won't get insured until they become sick.
