Well, various offers were made to leave the Empire intact in exchange for British apathy towards the continent. Goering (I think) flew to london alone to try and negotiate such a peace, but Churchill just threw him in the tower of London. As such, it probably would have taken such a form - the Germans probably wouldn't have ever invaded Britain proper, the Brits probably would've gone for such a deal once invasion became possible, and the Germans would've taken it rather than lose millions in an invasion.

Bob pays $20 in tax, Frank pays $200 in tax. They are paying equal taxes in perportion of their income. Frank has more dollars left over, but there is usually a good reason Franks get more dollars than Bobs

Bob might be in a worse situation after tax because Bob makes less money, but you and me see the situation from different perspectives. I think if Bob doesn't like paying 20 cents on the dollar, he should try to get a better job that could pay him more money. I don't think he should get a pass because he makes less money, and I don't think Frank should contribute more money because he earned more.

And don't equate my tax views to a lolbertarian, Russia uses a flat tax - it works great for them, and I don't think anyone would argue that Russia is a Libertarian country.

It's a lot easier for Frank to shit out a bit more dosh then it is for Bob. Frank doesn't even hurt that much. That extra money can go to ROADS,hospitals,schools the military and so many other things. A core tenant of natsoc is community and you've got to give your fair share.

Putting it very very simply, if Frank has a pie the size of a table and Bob a normal sized pie, frank can give half his pie (just an example I'm not suggesting anything for any specific country) and help both of them make a ice-cream or something, and he has plenty of pie left to invest and give to his children. From my perspective, everyone should pay an equal proportion of their income to the state. Everyone drives on the same roads, enjoys the same secure boarder, and strong police force, etc. Why should the poor pay less for it, while the wealthy pay quadruple (in some cases)

I'd really like to get some solid counter arguments, that don't only mention that poor people have hard lives because they are poor, and shouldn't have to pay as much taxes as everyone else.

Obviously, we should want no one to be in such dire straits, but increasing the standards of living will also increase the costs of living. More research in the margins by which poor people subsist is necessary before any such broad tax policy is enacted - and it is a pity that policy has been put in place without such research.

Honestly I think income taxes in general should be low. The real taxation should be from businesses, especially trade and importing/exporting. After all the goal is to make the country self-sufficient.

I think a rich man (with obvious exceptions) got rich by doing an important job. Doctors, Lawyers, Pilots, Businessmen, etc. I think they are entitled to their earnings. I can't see how it's "fair" that they should dish out more money, while some scab running a cashiers desk should get off scot free

I know some kids get large inheritances, living lavishly without working important jobs, but usually estates run dry in a few generations unless the children work high paying jobs, and spend their money wisely.

I am open to other perspectives, but I just don't buy all the "fair share" stuff, it reminds me of the liberal mentality.. I think an equal share is pretty fair
