It's about striking a balance. Humans have the capacity to act individually, and yet are also very social creatures that are capable of empathy and often function best in a group situation.
People say that Marxism doesn't work with human nature, and that is true. But the hypocritical thing is that most of the people that say it are Libertarians/Anarchists who don't realize that their worldview shares the same fatal flaw.
