Speaking as a guy unemployed 3 years I cannot see where I could ever have kids and I admit I am worthless to a woman. I want to do the job I got my degree with and nobody will hire me, I don't want to do retail or fast food, welfare is enough to get by.

How much good solid work is out there really? How many places can a man go to train a skill?
How many degrees can you get that actually pay if you are somewhat stupid?

Actually common law in Canada can screw you in a different way. Lets say one of your dies but you both bought a house and it's in both names. A next of kin of the deceased could come along and argue the property is theirs. If you were married the property would be yours entirely. You can safe guard that with a will but being married secures all that legal stuff.

So I've been in a situation where I worked at a shitty hard labor job, It paid $12 an hour and most of my co-workers were financially strapped.
