Netflix and the other companies for NN that are being targeted by the FCC have paid their corporate ISPs in-full for their bandwidth use, so have the customers of the ISPs in question. This is a matter of the ISPs wanting to extort the companies.
This matter arises from ISPs over-selling the bandwidth on the networks while dragging their ass with their network build-outs while they waste money on mergers and stadiums
The 1996 Telecommunications Act gives the ISPs massive tax breaks in exchange for building out their networks specifically so they don't have to or get to shake-down corporations and customers due to aging infrastructure

Net Neutrality is a sham. If they really wanted to stop the ISPs they'd try to break the monopolies, but that's not what they're after. They're just after more government power.

Reminder that Net Neutrality just says ISPs need to treat all packets the same. Data caps will still exist, and it won't make it any easier for new ISPs to show up, which means no new infrastructure and no competition. If Title II happens, then ISPs become a privately run public utility, where it's ILLEGAL for competition to happen.
People have been crying that the Internet would end without Net Neutrality for over 10 years now. The only noteworthy things that happened was Comcast tried throttling bit torrent (They had to stop, even without net neutrality) and Netflix had to pay Comcast a fee for full speed access to their customers, which is what reignited the net neutrality debate in the first place.

That is the literal point of what I said you fucking mouth-breather. The FCC put the rules in place in2015 and since then the amount of incidents until now with Verizon had all but disappeared. Now here comes Republican FCC chair Pajeet to fuck it all up again and not stand by NN or Title .
