All buisiness and commerce in germany is government subsidized. Everyone there assumes its normal, the reality is the "powerful" german economy is held together by a tenuous network of subsidies, loans, and turkish immigrants.

You see cobblestone streets in germany and think "how quaint and scenic!" But then reality sets in. Its stupid expensive, high maintenance, and requires about 10 times the resources and people to build.

Thats the point. If they didnt build expensive fuckin cobblestone bullshit everywhere and just used concrete like the rest of the world thats 10,000 people the govt isnt keeping employed. Everything in germany is run this way. German efficiency is a myth, germans are always late, always take longer to do everything, and it always costs more than it should. Because if it was ran efficiently the fragile network of pointless bullshit make-work tasks employing half the country would collapse.

If a german says it will be done tomorrow they mean next week. If they say next week they mean next month. If they say next month it means theyre blowing you off and its never going to be completed.

Every buisiness has retarded hours, are never open during them anyways, and there literally so many non working holidays that 7 times out of 10 the germans cant even tell you why they arent working and nothing is open for the next 3 days. Literally
