Facebook despite having a market cap of half a trillion, and revenue of 30 billion only employs 18k ppl. Is this proof that there simply isn't enough jobs in STEM for everybody?

Actual lucrative "STEM" jobs take more IQ than most people have. That's the main constraint.

Not only that but I would imagine less than half of those jobs actually require a STEM degree.

>less people have the capacity and skills to work with networking and computer science at a tech company instead of flipping burgers or putting in a screw on an assembly line
who would've though

The point is that the tech industry employs less people compared to other industries given the vast amount of revenue they generate. Surely this is a problem? We know from the facts that automation is going to eat away at 30% of the work force in the coming 10-15 years so how are these people going to find tech jobs if tech companies aren't creating enough jobs. Tech companies should be forced to employ more people.
