The only way I became disillusioned with material gains was after a lot of time reflecting on my life and reading/listening to a lot of really intelligent/thought-provoking people.

So, I guess... time? Dunno. Maybe everyone needs to slow down and work it out logically or something.

I've never been very materialistic. My parents didn't have any time for me as a kid but they gave me every toy I wanted. I'd rather have spent time with my parents than with my toys though.

Maybe that's the key to all of this. Maybe happiness isn't a good thing.
