In intelligence circles the White House would be considered compromised. The near constant litany of lies, missing information, obfuscation of activities and the proactive attempts to undermine investigations all point towards some level of Russian meddling, collusion or control. I would be surprised if any ally would allow the White House access to there classified material right now.

Russian will look out for Russian interests which generally speaking means a weaker or at the very least one that would lift sanctions against Russia. You can argue whether this is a good or bad thing. Electing Donald Trump has strained relationship with allies and gives an air of uncertainty with American policy. This makes the US a less reliable partner and thus less likely to receive support itself from its allies.

Also, it does seem the intelligence communities are at the very least sure that Russian intelligence services stole and released info from the DNC. It is hard to know the full picture since the matter is still under investigation. So at the very least it seems that the government takes these hack or possible hacks seriously.
