I am a devout Christian, but have recently discovered there is a Hindu temple in my neighborhood. "Shree Mandir" it was labeled. I really want to visit, if only for the cultural significance because here in the South-east United States, Hinduism and India culture isn't exactly common. I'm interested in checking it out and to meet some people there. Not as an evangelism tactic - not trying to convert anyone including myself. Just out of curiosity and respect.

Is this considered rude or intrusive? Especially since I'm not really a seeker and in fact reject Hinduism as a religion? I've been permitted to pray in a Mosque before as long as I followed their rules, is it similar here?
