wrong. rangers haven't run support for other spec ops as a primary since Somalia, 99% of Ranger missions are HVT raids, in a 90 day deployment they average 120 DA raids, all spec ops work together, but not in the way you described, and seals do mostly the same shit as Ranger (in a different way) and EVERYONE is doing A LOT more FID ops now a days, including Rangers and SEALs

They both allow entry at 18, they both have extensive training pipelines for their members that are between 12-24 months depending on your job, and while they sometimes do direct action, they have other roles that you would consider their primary task and purpose. In both cases, low vis guerrilla/asymmetric warfare and indigenous LNO/training.

Rangers have a primary task and purpose for direct action and airfield seizure.

The problem is, even women who will pass the test will have their bodies deteriorate faster than men. Women's skeletal structure differences means they just cost more than a man to keep in the same position. More for training (Due to number of failures), and more for post-service (Due to higher rates of injuries).

My experience with Women in the military is that Women have no place in the military. However, I also realize certain logistics positions they can be "okay" to have in. Just good luck getting a woman to deploy, many find it easy to get knocked up to not deploy. A lot easier to be unreliable and have people unable to do anything about it.

FID is just another word for Counter-Insurgency, it just has a broader scope. As far as airfield seizure, the boys got a mustard stain since I've been out so that's unlikely.

It's a legacy task and not one we're likely to see the Rangers phased out of. In reality, would they risk Rangers in some DZ in Africa? Probably not, you'd likely see 173rd from Vicenza get called up.

Do we have hundreds of American hostages taken prisoner somewhere that need rescued? Then you'll probably see Rangers get called on to do the task - except nowadays they can also do the follow on DA mission.

During the surge. When I got to Regt, Battalion had just come off a rotation that set what was thought to be an unofficial record at the time for most missions per element size in a single 90 day rotation. It was something like +300 missions at the time if I recall correctly.

There's nothing wrong with having women filling some POG roles, since I genuinely feel bad for the mentally and physically able men that are stuck in JAG or are cooking the food when it's something that a woman could do. A woman is NOT going to outperform most basic enlisted troops, and at best will be able to keep up with the guys that barely qualified. There's a good reason that there are more women in branches like the Navy than in the Marines
