I've just finished a degree in conservation, and virtually all students and staff were smug, pen pushing narcissists.

They get very excited at the prospects of getting a government grant, just so they can study some obscure plant or insect. Telling these people that something they care about is not worth tax payers money would cause most of their egos to be injured. Furthermore as well as their own ego, you can also take into consideration the smugness they feel from the validation and publication of their 'results'.

Ironically, all the measures they push for do more than good. For example the UK a conservation agency would need a licence to cut down some trees, which is just another example of the minefield of regulations THEY built.

Climate change is real and humans are the main motivating force. But they're deliberately keeping the information vague and bemoaning the lack of action because the reaction to climate change has always been to consolidate power into smaller and smaller circles.

The exact same thing happened in the 70s when a bunch of researchers came out with computer models predicting human population collapse and environmental catastrophe. But back then, it was the far left who came out and called the research NWO bullshit, because it recommended that strict controls be placed on populations around the world.

But climate change is the perfect tool to justify diverting massive amounts of wealth away from productive countries and install friendly leaders in less productive ones. They don't care about improving Europe or even about stabilizing Africa, they just want control, and climate science is the tool they've chosen.
