Peterson needs to learn how to distill his message down. I've been listening to him for months, hours and hours of audio and reading up on him and trying to get behind his ideas. He likes to ramble a lot and make a lot of free association points, but he gets side-tracked too often. He'll start talking about how you can make yourself a better person and five minutes later he's on about wearing a cape in a prison. Sometimes he's non-sequitorial.

People like Tim Ferriss are giving a similar message while making it much more understandable and more structured. That doesn't mean Peterson is necessarily worse, though. I enjoy his command of the metaphysical and religious symbolism, and I think he's a good answer to leftist academia. However, the things he pushes in the Self-Authoring program and the precepts he wants you to base your life around can be described more efficiently and with less fuss. I'll do my best to distill it:

1. Order your life and fix yourself before trying to fix the world
2. Define your fears and then plan how to get rid of them
3. Make things better wherever you go
4. Get in touch with your history
5. Recognize the meaning inherent in everyday life
6. Persistence is the key to spiritual success
7. Totalitarianism comes in the form of benign sympathy at first
8. Learn to respect yourself and your society
9. Don't tear things down just for the sake of tearing them down
10. Have concrete goals that you know you can accomplish

There you go. You don't have to pay him a dime at this point. There's also a YT channel by this guy named Sorting Myself Out, where he's documenting his quest to be less of a NEET autist and get his act straightened out. Very insightful and more effective than some of the airy Peterson lectures out there.

Also the guy is genuinely pretty modest in his living if you read about him, and is trying to get the ball rolling to block the further subversion of the educational system. Personally I think it is way too late for that. Still though he is a top notch psychologist, a pretty decent literary/art/cultural critic, and has a certain charm to his style of speech. There are not a lot of decent scholars fighting against a thoroughly morally and ethically bankrupt educational system. There are not a lot of folks like him that clearly explain the dangers of postmodernism. There is a reason why he resonates with folks.
