You have it backwards. Republicans will turn up their noses at you for being a vagrant, but that's it. Only Socialists put you in a camp if they don't think you're giving enough labor to the cause.

Socialism is the exact opposite of that. It is the state using force, or threat of force, to take from you and allocate as they see fit.
