Socialism works when the collective is actually willing to support each other. The minute you have a few people not willing to contribute to the greater good, it falls apart.

Sweden worked before migrants because they maintained something like a 2.3% unemployment rate. But when they started to accept as many refugees as possible, the unemployment rate rockets to something like 10%, which became unfeasible.

I looked at the numbers, and the average tax rate in Denmark is something like 56%. Besides that, they have a 25% sales tax, extremely expensive new vehicles (180% of the price of a new vehicle here in the States), gas is nearly $7 per gallon, and many people emigrate from these countries.

First off, we're not socialist, we have an open marked base economy. 2nd, Sweden have done any stats on 3rd world immigrants since 2005.

just before we go any further:

scandinavian countries ARENT socialist. at all. strong welfare state, but 0% socialist. free market capitalism (mostly) all the way

our "cons" is that we have centralized states built on pluralistic values, limiting the monopoly of wealth & power. strong property rights, equality under the law, etc... all the ingredients needed for incentivising people to create their own wealth is in place, with (in most fields) a minimal risk of the state stealing whatever you create... all the reasons for why we are doing so well seem so obvious.

exact same applies for norway
not to make it a pissing contest, but in a lot of ways, scandinavian countries are more financially liberal (i.e. "free") than the US
