I live just south of SFO on the peninsula. I came here from Florida exactly for work. I have no plans on buying a house and I will leave after my stock options are fully vested. It's literally a work stint region and everyone that has lived here for generations will become extinct if they don't adapt outside of municipalities trying to force their survival.

I have only made one friend in the last three years. I just cant find anyone I agree with idealogically.

Work life balance is great.

I love the fucking nature here though. It literally is God's playground with beautiful ocean vistas , mountains, forests, and even deserts. It really is beautiful and I go to Yosemite all the time to hike and camp.

I live in San Francisco and I literally don't have the money for it right now. My last job (minimum wage-fag) dropped my hours to Friday and Saturday evenings, so literally 8 hours a week, so I said fuck off and started looking for new work. Been 2 weeks and still looking.

At this point, I'm only staying because I've been a resident for a year and can go to school for free at the local community college. Not ideal, but in the end it saves me money, and hopefully I get a STEM 4.0 and can transfer to somewhere more livable afterward.

It's not all bad, I mean. It's really pretty, you get to meet some interesting people, tons of free stuff and everything is walkable. But I feel pretty shameful having 0 money at 22 and no job.

I actually live in the city, not like some of these cucks who live in the Bay Area or peninsula. Anyhow, the only real huge gripes that I have with the city is how expensive it is and how fake the the non-natives are. All these people who are moving in are so fucking fake, they want to be so fucking trendy. I hate their guts and they're liberal in a very patronizing way. If you live in a nice part of the city, it can truly seem amazing. It's a fucking beauty desu. Another problem I'm noticing is way too many fucking chinks, I literally had no problem with them 7 years ago, but man they are starting to get to me. Now I know how people in Vancouver feel. As for the liberals and fags, you eventually get used to it, and you barely see them unless you go to trendy neighborhoods, down town or the Castro. Homelessness is a huge problem though, I even seen them build little small shacks because the Mayor has gone easy on them recently. I visited SF for the first time in 2015 for Game Developer's Conference. this is basically the conclusion I reached as well, having grown up in the Midwest and lived in the greater Seattle area.

SF was like a GTA-style parody of American culture:

and here's the kicker: I talked to one semi-prominent game developer who was just moving back to SF after being away for awhile. she told me that in SF, the weather pretty much never changes between seasons, which fucks with your brain and makes you lose track of the passage of time.

For the most part, once you are out of the city, the landscape and city-scape is completely different. Hardly anyone in SF cares about anyone outside of the city, but everyone in the Bay Area usually cares about the city. Especially when explaining it to foreigners, they talk about Hayward or some shit town like that as if it were a 10 minute walk away from the city.
