Yeah but then he wouldnt own any businesses or property

Time in the market is worth more than the same money out of the market. Those funds would have fucked during 08 and what Trump learned from all those failing businesses is worth more the money.

If you dont know this you can't be rich without luck or crime. No, I'm sorry, it's just not possible. You don't have the mindset.

No, instead Trump built a brand out of his own name and became a US President.

Of all the anti-Trump arguments, this one is the dumbest. It shows a complete lack of imagination and ambition.

This is exactly why liberal commies are fucking useless. If Trump had done that, we wouldn't have Trump hotels to stay at, or Trump golf courses to play at.

They are naive when it comes to economics and imagine absolutely everything is linear. They probably imagine if the Vatican gives up its gold, everyone will be able to eat--as if people could eat gold. They don't even comprehend the basic concept of trade being real-time, let alone supply and demand.

Liberals are fucking dumb. Dumber than insects. And must be treated as such for those of us who are not dumb to remain healthy.

I'd love to see the math on that. Trump's father passed in 1998 with a net worth of $200m, which was split 3 ways.
>>

That was already debunked (they calculated him receiving his inheritance decades before he actually did) and he wouldn't have created a single job (instead of the tens of thousands he already did.)

>>
>>134376267
1) I doubt this is correct
2) He would have needed to sell stock to finance his lifestyle which I imagine is very expensive
3) He would have needed to sell stock to buy nice properties he is using for vacations or to live in. This would have costed him likely a large portion of any profits.
4) It's always better to have a real business that is functioning than owning exclusively stocks and hoping that this will go on forever.

He has now lots of stocks and lots of very valuable real estate. I'd say he is set himself and his next generations quite well.

Btw this shit trying to paint him as a business loser by leftists who often struggle to pay their next rent is completely retarded.

1. Trump created jobs instead of just playing the stock market like a parasite, and encouraged spending, which increases GDP.
2. Fred left $35mm to Donald in inheritance. He had 4 children. He did not leave his whole inheritance to Trump.
3. The S&P500 makes about 3% after inflation year on year. That doesn't then just compound, it gets taxed. 40%. So it will make 1.018% every year. 1.018^4 = 1.40x as much. So he would be worth $49mm in today's money. So this is absolute breeze.
4. Finger painting would assume he has been doing nothing. Instead he bought jets, casinos, built an empire, lived like a king. He probably spends 8 digit figures a year just living a life of luxury. In 2 years he would've lost all his money if he wasn't making more money.

Buying houses, cars, electronics, contributes far more jobs to the economy than staffing golf courses, luxury apartments, or casinos. Plus, at the same time, they contribute to jobs that produce actual goods and doesn't support degenerate habits like gambling.

I'd say that's far better for the economy than what Trumps doing. Plus, isn't Trump like the least charitable billionaire? the average person would donate far more to charity if they had that kind of money.

>>
>>134376267
>S&P 500 has realized a minimum of 2,900% gain since 1999

The difference between the S&P bullshit and Trump's wealth is that Trump paid back the loan, if he had invested it into the S&P he wouldn't have been able to pay back the loan until much later, and then once he did, his profits from the S&P would drop.
>>

>muh 8 billion
http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2015/dec/09/occupy-democrats/occupy-democrats-say-simple-investment-trumps-fath/

It's not true. Where it comes from is the idea that if he sold everything in 1982, when his net worth was estimated at $200 million, and invested it all in this S&P 500 index fund, and left it all there, it would have accumulated to $8 billion.

Problem 1: He didn't inherit $200 million from his father in 1982. Fred Trump lived until 1999. Trump went to work in the mid-60s, while he was still in college, so he was well over a decade into his career in 1982. He had played a large role in building that $200 million fortune already.

Problem 2: Putting all your money in index funds was not a conventional move in 1982. Pic related. Index funds had been poor performers for decades before that. If he did this, he wouldn't have been seen as an ordinary passive investor, but as a prescient genius or a very lucky slob, especially if he toughed it out through the roller-coaster ride of the first decade of the 2000s to the recovery of the mid-2010s.

Problem 3: People spend money. Trump has lived an extravagant lifestyle, as most people will, when they have the opportunity. There's no accounting for this spending in the passive investment scenario. We see frequent stories of rock stars, movie stars, sports stars, and lottery winners spending everything and going bankrupt, because yes, it's really not hard to spend that much, especially if you just see money as something to spend, not a tool for your work.

Realistically, if Trump had simply taken what he could get from his father and been a conventional investor, he would almost certainly never have become a billionaire.
