Why doesn't anybody have any faith in Britain's economy after leaving the EU and forging our own future?

There is going to be a period of instability, but once we're through the rough patch, surely it's going to be a much brighter future: not propping up most of the EU countries (including the recently cocky Ireland), less immigration to help us sort out social problems, and a bright future of free trade with countries around the world of whom we choose, with EU tariffs from trading with these countries removed.

Feels like we're being punished by the big corporations who want a globalist future of one-world, one-culture, no borders. They withdraw investment as a precaution when nothing has actually changed, just based on uncertainty, which then means it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, as without the investment the pound plummets, and this creates a nasty cycle, which is really created over thin air.

This is turn gives fodder for left to criticise the Leavers over how bad living standards are, completely ignoring the fact that living standards have been falling since way before the referendum was even announced. And of course failing to consider the social consequences of their mass immigration, such as NHS strain, housing strain, and cultural strain. And failing to address the REAL reasons why living standards have been plummeting.

No one really understands what it is to be British any more, national identity has been eroded to the point that people can only see the next pay cheque. Our political class are scum, the bbc it turns out is full of pedos, we are being replaced at a rate of knots. There is no British identity or it's so fractured I doubt it can be repaired.
>>
>>134371384
It's quite simple. All people care about is money. Any sense of national identity is seen as tertiary, at best, and vilified at worst. The modern occupant of this land is generally more than willing to be a commercial entity. There is no desire for people to do things for their own people anymore.

Tog rating, yes. I use a 4.5 all year because I like being cold, but you can get anything up to about 15+ which are hot as fuck. Most people have a 10.5 I think, at least they seem to be most common in shops.

Generally you want 4.5 for summer and 10-13 for winter.

>There is no British identity

But you're wrong lad. There really is. It's just not what you or I wish for it to be.

British identity is now a scaled back bastardisation of US identity. It's:

>TV talent shows
>Holidays to shitholes in Southern Europe
>Harry Potter worship
>Pro multiculturalism
>Pro abortion
>Pro faggotry
>Celebrity worship
>Service sector work
>Tesco
>Primark
>Liberalism (L not l)
the list goes on.

There is a culture here, a strong one, just one that is very different to what it used to be and what we want it to be.

I don't like to listen to average people speak--including myself. It's often unprepared, and they underrepresent themselves because they get emotional. The Police is a major problem, and our economic structure is also terrible. Personally I favour Elon Musk type factories, because they're self-contained units of production that make sure the whole industrial process is controlled from one location/company. This creates national pride, industry, and identity. Also destroys global production lines.

>>134372430
It's something that exists but cannot be 'brought back'. It has to emerge organically. As in, our current economic situation has to be stripped away. People are too comfortable, myself included.

>>134372556
I have a read many books. How is that not a tribal identity? It comes from something that used to be productive, but no longer is applicable because we aren't deserving of that pride anymore. 'We have a proud tradition that we totally adhere to, stop messing it up.' Clinging to past glories and not finding a way to incorporate tradition with our changing situation because we have illusions of grandeur. I hope for them to collapse.

>read a book

is right in his assessment of the future.

I am hopeful, but also a realist. Demographically we have been destroyed. There is not going to be a mass deportation of non-Brits. It just isn't going to happen. Not until the order of the entire world changes and I'm certain the British will not be an instrumental part in that. And we will, inarguably, be a minority in 4 generations, likely sooner than that.

Our schools are already >30% non white-British and 1/4 children born in the UK are born to foreign parents, 2/5 are born to non-British parents.

The economy has all but flatlined. Pensions will disappear as will jobs. There is no real future for the 'millennial' generation in the same way there was for most other generations.

Something like 20% of jobs are going to be automated by 2030 meaning millions more out of work.

Our generation is the result of the propaganda we were fed in schools, by the TV and other media. The next generation's propaganda is 1,000x worse than what we were subjected to. Most of us likely didn't see porn until we were about 12/13 and didn't really use it until we were 14 and even then it was mostly normal stuff. Now, a huge amount of 10 year old children have laptops, tablets and phones and are able to, within seconds, watch the most disgusting, immoral and abhorrent videos and this will serve to destroy every emotional and loving feeling about sex and turn it into nothing more than simple gratification. The family unit is already nearly ruined, in 2 generation's time I believe it will be all but gone.

I'm not really a religious person, but I do think the morality of religion is needed to keep society on the right path. Until this country finds God again, a new interpretation of God, on a large scale we have no way out of this hell.

Sorry for being rude. I think we should transfer the debt to the housing market, since that's where it came from really. As a nation we have about £5tn in housing equity, so just put a charge against every home owner for ~25% of what they hold in property.

That doesn't mean it can't be encouraged anon.

For example our current system of schooling is built to perpetuate white guilt in terms of history and "tolerance" elsewhere. Why is that?
Changing parts of it can be done.

I don't expect as so many on here do that all it'll take is another Muslim terrorist attack to make everyone start singing rule Britannia and executing everyone with a tan in the streets.

I didn't want to be too disheartening, but I believe that identity which we had, and somewhat still had, is about to die--if t hasn't already. It is passed down through families, and it is transferred through those subtle queues, like a long connection to a place, folk stories, your grandparent's stories, local/national attitudes. What would take someone 30 (if that) years to learn is condensed into just a childhood.

It can be helped. Absolutely. Local action, teaching, funding through business, academic change. But I think we're on a ticking clock. Once the chain has been broken, then it's increasingly difficult to get the culture back.

>>134373892
No worries. Making it as non-liquid as possible also helps. The more we can do to rely on ourselves, the better. The more our land is important, the better.
>>
>>134374213
>And our women are crying out for the traditional masculinity that Muslim men possess and most of our brothers have had thoroughly cucked out of them.

An extremely alarming and upsetting, but completely accurate sentence.

The sad truth of it is that most of the masculine men in this country are low intelligence and will never really be able to change the course of things.

Students, i.e. the people who will invariably rule the country through government, media, education, business etc. in the future, are largely physically weak, mentally malleable and left wing. Without that changing, there's very little way of anything changing.

Though women are to blame as well. They thought they knew what they wanted, but it turned out they were wrong. Sadly we didn't have strong men in place to tell them that instead of giving them what they asked for.

Feminism, from the beginning was civilisational-scale shit test that women, at some level, wanted men to overcome. They wanted a firm hand, and instead they got: “Whatever will make you happy, honey”.

The men of our civilisation failed this colossal shit test. And that was when our civilisation started to fall apart.

It's not about maximisation. It's about doing enough to seem like it's good overall, I think. And about creating an ethnic voter-base. Also, it's about destroying the common ground democracy requires. The more people disagree, the more basic they disagree on things. In that case the more likely people are to turn to commercialism for meaning. Honestly, it makes sense that it's all to facilitate unending international trade which shifts into a global government with a permanent genetic underclass of mixed people, with only a set few people who control everything and indulge in their power fantasies and hedonism.

>In legal terms, chaotic Brexit is appropriately named. While the European Union (Withdrawal) bill stipulates that EU rules on “choice of law” will continue to apply, this will not bind other member states. Legal uncertainty will be time consuming but is only the tip of the iceberg. While a cliff-edge Brexit would imply customs checks, tariffs and regulatory barriers between the UK and the EU, with a premature Brexit none of the necessary infrastructure would be in place, causing chaos at ports. Complex cross-border supply chains would be interrupted. Drugs developed in the UK would not have their approval recognised in other member states, and clinical trials would be disrupted.

>It gets worse. Air transport is not covered by the WTO, so there are no rules to fall back on. And airlines need to arrange their schedules a year in advance. It is conceivable that, following a chaotic Brexit, planes to and from the UK would cease to fly, if only because the lawyers would caution them against doing so.

>The political implications of a hard border in Northern Ireland — which a chaotic Brexit would make inevitable — hardly need spelling out. Even the talk of no deal has destabilised the province, in the context of simmering tensions over the breakdown of power sharing.

>The economic implications would also be severe. The highly integrated agri-food business would be severely disrupted. Indeed agriculture throughout the country would be affected. We expect major retailers to have contingency plans, so we would not anticipate food shortages. However, a chaotic Brexit would make the task of separating our WTO entitlements and obligations from those of the EU much harder, particularly if talks broke down acrimoniously. Meanwhile, our fishermen might benefit from being able to catch more fish, but they would face tariffs exporting their catch to the EU, their major export market.

>With no agreement, EU citizens in the UK would find themselves in limbo. The British government could implement the proposals it has tabled in the Article 50 negotiations. But these are contingent on reciprocity from the EU, and this is unlikely to be forthcoming on the UK’s terms. The situation would be worse for British citizens in the EU: while the withdrawal will incorporate EU law into UK law, there will be no equivalent elsewhere: on Brexit day, British citizens will no longer be EU citizens, with potentially significant implications.

>If a chaotic Brexit begins to appear certain or even likely, then we can expect businesses to act in anticipation. Above and beyond this fall in business confidence, we could expect a further significant fall in the exchange rate and consequent rise in inflation. Under such circumstances, the much-maligned Treasury forecast of a significant economic shock might, belatedly, be vindicated.

>It would be a legal morass and an economic disaster. Even with time to prepare, major sectors would face disruptive change. Legal uncertainty, regulatory limbo, the re-imposition of customs checks, and the ambiguous status of resident citizens will all be major issues, with no obvious solutions.

Also enjoy your Labour government as a result of this. Retards.

You really are dumb. First of all, you seem to not value anything but money and power. So any shit you say is whimsicle. You previous posts only suggest that you are envious of not being a part of the in-group global trader hedonist scheme, which makes you a fucking degenerate leech.

Money is 'power' insofar as it is useful for a goal, and so long as you have people willing to take it. It's not 'power' if the thing you want to buy, nobody wants to do. It is driven by social morality as a basic level. A socially agreed foundation for what it commonly acceptable. Money is useful for manifesting this, but it is not total power like you think it is. The social winds need to blow in your favour for it to be used for power, and even then many people are willing to do things because they believe in them. It is entirely dependent upon that. Sovereignty can change that.

I suppose you think it was natural for us to become a service economy? That was all free market, right? No sovereignty or political power there. Not like that changed how people trade!

Just been to outer/pol/ for a bit, christ why do I never learn. The level of conversation out there starts at the absolute worst shitposting idiocy you see in here and then just gets worse. So many people who just want to mindlessly scream down a hole.
>>
>>134397108
I've said it before and will say it again - brit/pol/ is the best place on /pol/.

You are a sick fuck. Three years ago, I was raped by a man like you.
>>
>>134401454
You say that like you think you know anything about my situation. You have no idea how much counseling I've gone to, self defense classes, and medication I've been on. Despite all of that, the topic of rape still cuts me to the core. And you think its because I didn't try hard enough. I hope you never have to experience something like that.

Terminal NEET reporting in. Sorry for letting the country down, lads. I'm really fucked up. At least I paid 50k income tax before becoming disabled.

alright lads starting to get into politics and just took a political compass test and I'm not sure if it's right here's a few beliefs I hold, please tell me where you think I am on the compass and what words I should use to describe my political beliefs

>land should not be able to be bought, however you should be able to forcibly keep other people off the land you're currently on
>you spent billions of years evolving to live in one country living in another is stupid and shouldn't be tolerated
>you should have complete freedom, do whatever you want, it should be up to the negatively impacted to seek justice (even via a third party if they like)
>people should live a minimal lifestyle in the woods, like we did for millions of years
>>
>>134403039
I don't know, might end up killing my self if I feel like my life gets past the point of no return.

>>
>>134403408
The West will probably have fallen by then and then you won't have to kill yourself. What a bloody mess there's going to be if it does!

Out of interest, as you seem to have done at least some planning for this; how would you kill yourself?
>>
>>134376678
Lets be frank here. A no deal scenario is far from ideal. It would probably be quite painful.

What if though the alternative is basically EU membership on worse terms? Nobody will accept that.

In which case, we would be more inclined to have no deal, take the hit, and redirect our economy to minimise risks and maximise opportunities
>>
>>134403700
Something politically related but not in such a way that it harms other people. Maybe self-immolation after maxing out on super strength pain killers.
