Yeah idk if I buy this. I went to Napoli alone to visit my brother. I was on trains, sidewalks, etc. and no one bothered me/ I saw less comprimising shit than in NYC. We're not talking about "violent crime" (which varies a lot by jurisdiction even within the US) but about murder, which is more precisely-defined. You can look up the relevant definitions and methodologies on the ONS (UK Office of National Statistics) website. Scotland also compiles its own numbers; you can read their standards, and compare them both with the FBI's criteria for its annual Uniform Crime Report.

If anything, US statistics leave out more murders - the FBI didn't classify the 9/11 deaths as murders, and probably won't classify the Orlando shootings as murders, either. The UK WILL classify the London attacks as murders under their standards.

I had to look into this stuff a few years ago, and was disabused of some misimpressions that I used to have. England has a significantly lower rate of murder than the US, because it lacks American-style black ghettos were the locals have easy access to firearms.

Blacks + firearms = mass-death. That's the pattern you see even in the US. NYC has a large black population, but keeps its murder rate below the national average by aggressively enforcing gun laws against them. Cities like St. Louis, Baltimore, etc. have large black populations and very little enforcement, and the result is an ongoing urban war.
