With the rise of machine guns thanks to Gatling, this was the first modern war where the defenders had a massive edge over the aggressors. They could have just holed up and fought a war of attrition which would have made the North relent eventually. But confederate leadership was too incompetent and failed to realize this and hence they lost.

There's no way that slavery would have existed in the south past 1930.

Also an insignificant amount of the population in Dixieland owned slaves, and slavery would've eventually been phased out of their society, had they owned a larger industry and population.

Slavery was incidentally linked to the civil war. The issue was state rights and how much control the federal government had over state governments. Slavery just happened to be one of the issues that was different between states, as was the ability of states to secede from the union. The confederates saw the US as individual countries that worked together with a unified central government to make the general laws, while the union saw the US only as a large country that had representatives from each state to write and vote in laws. As others have said, slavery would have been obsolete within 20 years and would have died out either way. However, if the south had won we wouldn't have had to deal with the failure that was reconstruction and the country could have advanced technologically unilaterally instead of the North advancing technologically while the South lagged behind.
