Crisis.

The West will be nearing breakdown due to social collapse from social media, cultural decay, and immigration negatively affecting productivity in addition to demographic changes. Financial system will be strained even further from our chain of debt.

China will be equal in world influence, and most of Africa will be nearing de facto colony status.

West's decline will be at full force by then. China will dominate. Lots more of the low intensity, drawn out conflict that consumes peoples' entire lives but does not cause mass casualties (unlike WW2). Lots more refugees, overpopulation and economic crisis.

I mean, if you think about it, where was society 40 years ago? 1977? Not really much has changed.
American and Russian government still dislike each other (the leaders change, but the core governments are still there, and they do not like each other), technology is steadily increasing (bigger/smaller, faster, stronger, more readily available), and the world is inevitably getting more globally connected.

Barring any VERY, VERY unlikely nuclear apocalypse, the world will steadily continue along it's path. Progression will be made, but traditionalists will keep it from getting out of hand. We live in a world where small groups of extremists are controlled by the mass moderate population.
If we even make it to something in pic related it won't be for another 100 years or so.
I speak mostly of western society though. Some places in Asia already look like that pic. It's easy to progress to a neo-cyberpunk future when you're basically completely removed from (((western society))).
I'd have no problems with this kind of "progress", even if these are usually crime ridden and depressing futures, as long as we don't progress to this Brave New World style of authoritarian guardianship and controlling thoughts.

Chiiina will continue to be a threat but Mutually Assured Destruction will keep them from completely abusing their power. Chinks are smart. They want to be the America into the 22nd century they don't want to die like NK -- I don't really give a fuck China is cool and they seem to hate Islam.

Non-Europeans will be well integrated and the New European State will fund "camping trips" for all non-Europeans

europe will become like south africa if we are lucky and like syria (perpetual civilwar) if we are unlucky
america will loose power and influence, the average burger becomes much poorer...
israel will continue to grow in population, power and territory according to plan (look up oded yinon), but as they function like a paraside, they will need to swich their host(s)
