I struggle with mental illness and have been institutionalised many times, many times and have seen a lot of people pull their own plugs because it was literally the only thing they could do.

Really the closest thing to a success story is lithium salts. But SSRI's and antipsychotics have a fairly bad track record, and even lithium, most people try to withdraw from at some point and end up back in the loony bin.

Meditation helped me a lot. Went from being crazy anxious and depressed when I was younger to pretty stoic now. Also drugs don't help they only mask the symptoms if not make them worse, especially the ones (((doctors))) like to push. Most "mental illnesses" can be largely cured on your own through self reflection and making smart and healthy lifestyle choices. Things like depression anxiety anger issues etc. just takes the ability to recognize these thought patterns and the willpower to change them.

Or you know pic related is always an option.

I was unhappy for about 13 years because my life was consumed by both. I gained weight, limited my job options, and pretty much ruined my life.

it doesn't apply to everyone of course, but but it didn't help me- I was weak with outside stress and used them as coping mechanisms.

I have a serious mental illness and for people like me there is no answer with present medical technology. I should literally be in a mental institution or just euthanized because I am a serious threat to people when I am manic. That isn't just down to the illness though, people with my condition function, but the combination of the mental disorder with my personality makes for a net negative on everybody around me.

I would have killed myself if I respected my country, but seeing as they are what they are they don't deserve anything.
