I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that you can't modify brain anatomy or structure after it has fully developed, and the brain fully develops after childhood, as far as I know. So unless the MtF tranny received HRT while his brain was still developing, you can't blame the HRT for how his brain ended up looking like

An outdated concept now, for some time it's been know that hormones can have an extreme effect on personality. Some easy googles regarding this subject:
- birth control pills for treating depression / manic-depressive / other mental illnesses
- effects on the development of children from various enhancers/inhibitors in the brain

The brain is incredibly fluid. Unfortunately, the side effect of this means medicines, contaminants (estrogen in water supply), and other things can effect a human very easily, including how people feel about sex and other things. Sometimes permanently, sometimes temporarily.

The interesting part of the same fact means that being gay can indeed be cured.
If being gay can't be cured, it also means its impossible to transition through the mental state of a gender.
