I do random tests, and yes, it's for insurance purposes. Every place I've worked at has had drug tests before hiring as a matter of policy.

Long story but here's the quick rundown:

I wanted to start a family and so I met a traditional girl who had a good relationship with her parents. We dated 3.5 years and I decided it was time to get married.

They started putting poison in her ear saying I was pushing her into the religion. Everytime she came back from her parents place she would be hysterical. It came to a head when her parents gave an ultimatum that their side of the family would not show up to the wedding.

Instead of siding with me, she sided with them and argued with me saying she felt like she was my slave. I had enough, I told her since she was so miserable with me that she is now kicked out and to pack her shit and go back to her parents.

She was shocked, didn't expect me to actually call her powerplay for what it is. She begged me to let her stay and for us to talk it out. I said my mistake was listening and talking too much and that now it was over and we weren't going back. This all came to a head about 2.5 months before the wedding date, so we had to cancel everything and notify the family.

In between all this the house I had bought, with my parents, was listed under both our names.
