it's transformed so much from its start that it's obv in its death throes.
It's like when global warming became climate change. Now "russia hacked the election" has become "Don Jr. met with a Russian."

She won the popular vote. If there was Russian involvement, it literally means all of Trump's votes weren't counted.

Jr tweeting the emails shows transparency and that he gleaned nothing of use regarding Hillary from the meeting. If he had, we would have heard about it literally a year ago.

How was Russia involved? The Russian at the meeting was not with the government, was anti-Trump, worked for FusionGPS (the firm behind the piss dossier), and had an expired Visa yet was still let into the country by Loretta Lynch's DOJ.

Also, DNC fundraisers were sending around pictures of her house the day she met with Don Jr. Very strange.

Kushner's a faggot who received $250,000,000 from George fucking Soros, you can hang him for all I care. It doesn't show any collusion between Trump and Russia unless any unreported dealings Kushner made were used to aid the Trump campaign, which they were not.

>trump jr tweets out emails admitting to wanting to get damaging information on the clintons.
Nothing about that is wrong or collusion, it had no connection to the Russian government. Ukrainian government, on the other hand, confessed to aiding Hillary.

>Kushner undisclosed meeting with kislyak to set up a back channel
Ah yes, Kislyak, the man who sat only with DNC members during Trump's first Address to Congress. The one Russian Ambassador that Obama didn't kick out when he sent 35 home.

All there is to this story is the DNC mafia trying to plant info and failing hard. The law is against you.

It's not going away. Every time it even calms down a little, we learn something new and it comes right back into the public consciousness. Maybe if Trump and his family would actually stop digging themselves deeper, there would be a chance it could be put to bed.

>>134161750
"Russia hacked the election" was never the story. That's what Trumpists claimed everybody was saying because we all know it's false. "Russia hacked the DNC to help Trump, and we're trying to figure out if Trump was complicit" is the less-sexy, but actually true story. And now, it's also "did members of the Trump campaign break the law by accepting help from a foreign government during the campaign?"

Whatever the new question/accusation is, it doesn't mean the old one went away. It's because we learned some other, new, ridiculous thing a Trump or Trump surrogate did. And they won't stop doing them, in spite of themselves.

>Whatever Trump is hiding, I dont think it's any worse than the shit Hillary, Podesta, Cheney, Bush, Obama and all the fucking swamp creatures have been doing for decades.

Doesn't come anywhere near their level of depravity. Some backroom deal over an expedited building permit in exchange for some sanction relief or preferential trade status is the worst you can expect. No trafficked kids, no assassinations, no violent regime changes or CIA-backed militias masquerading as a new terrorist group.

At worst, Boeing and Raytheon don't get that next big order for fighter jets and missiles because we're not bombing the some shitty country into dust and spending time and military resources propping it up with a puppet government. And then siccing the next ISIS on them whenever they disobey or cozy up to another foreign power we don't like, flooding the region with more rapefugees. Also, a new hotel or casino might go up in Moscow or Shanghai and eats American tourist dollars. That's literally as worst as it can get.

These are the average post numbers per hour on 4chan /pol/
There are about 5000 new replies per hour

I'm certain Russia meddled in the election. The question is whether Trump was complicit or not (he might not have known, he might have known and just let it happen, or he might have actively helped--that's what Mueller is trying to figure out).

Don Jr, on the other hand, is just a fucking dumbass rich boy with no common sense, but an inflated sense of ego from his dad's constant bravado. His involvement might very well have been accidental, but it would be pretty funny if his ineptitude caused the first domino to fall.

Listen I really believe that you really believe what you're saying. The thing is you're being asked a very straightforward question and you can't answer it I'm a way that meshes with reality in any way that makes any bit of sense.

What did Russia do?

Now you will answer:

>They hacked the DNC emails!

Except, as it turned out, the servers were never even turned over to any intelligence agency for inspection. They were examined by Crowdstrike, which is a DNC infosec firm on their payroll, who released a report stating "we believe it was Russians because P0desta got phished by an IP originating near Russia." Which doesn't even make any sense in the first place, because there exists such a thing as a VPN. Almost any IP can source from anywhere on earth. That was the initial basis for the claim.

But the entire "colluded with Russia" narrative doesn't even make sense in the first place. Someone posted this on the board a few weeks back. Ask yourself this:

If you were Russia, why would you even actively conspire directly with Trump? It makes no sense. You would simply act unilaterally in his interest without interaction. Do you see the logic?

Because for Russia, there is literally no downside. More sanctions? Boo hoo, we've already got 'em. The US isn't going to war with Russia. We'd send them a strongly worded letter at best. Trump doesn't even have to be an active participant.

But if you can get a flamboyantly inept patsy elected who will weaken the US at home and on the world stage? Fuck yeah you do that. Even better if (and this is speculation) you have something on him to make sure he doesn't hurt you if he somehow figures out how to do the job.

The bit I find especially enraging is the repetition of the deliberately vague and handwavy "Russian interference" wording (see also "they attacked our democratic process", which is similarly insubstantial and intended only to add hysteria to the accusation). It makes it tough for me to believe the guy is arguing in good faith.

If I say "The DNC and multiple MSM outlets provably collaborated with the Hillary campaign in a variety of ways to try to ensure she won the Democratic nomination", that's a fairly specific allegation that I can happily back up with even more specific, well-sourced details, including e-mails sent by the actual parties concerned. When some s**tlib says "Russia interfered in our election" it could mean any one of a million things. They could mean that Russian officials and media commented on the election in a way that preferred one candidate to the other (as did pretty much every country in the world). They could mean that Russian agents literally hacked voting machines to change vote totals. Yet they never seem to want to clarify what they DO mean, in fact they go far out of their way to avoid doing so. They just disingenuously repeat "Russian interference, Russian interference, why can't you admit there was Russian interference" over and over like the guy above. If you try to pin them down on specifics and demand proof they fall back on "muh 17 intelligence agencies" or similar, which is both untrue and in any case boils down to "faceless anti-Trump Deep State bureaucrats said it was true, therefore it's true".

>when the scooter trash bites it

>>
-No one has produced a shred of evidence of real material malfeasance having shifted anyone's vote. Claiming Russian sockpuppets on social media left fake news comments falls waaaaaaay short of that standard.
- Obama himself came out after the election and said it was properly conducted and legitimate
- Insider accounts of Hillary's campaign describe how they consciously decided to push the Russia narrative to shift the blame for their loss
- The "assessment" documents that have been released are embarrassingly light on details, specifically say "probably" instead of "they did it and we can prove it", and have been roundly criticized by cybersecurity experts for failing to adequately make their case.
- These are the same spy agencies who assured us there were WMD's in Iraq; they have a long history of altering or inventing intelligence reports for political ends (it's also clear they hate Trump, hence all the illegal leaking)
- The NSA (which is by far the best-equipped of the 3 agencies to opine on hacking accusations) was not even willing to use the word "probably" in their assessment. They merely said it was "possible", which is frankly pathetic.
- The FBI never got to examine the "hacked" servers despite asking to (very bizarre if you think about it). The private firm that did was a paid vendor of the DNC and there is no reason Americans should trust their claims.
- Even if all the wildest accusations were true it would merely prove that the FBI/NSA/CIA were totally incompetent under Obama, or maybe they were just too distracted spying on the Trump campaign to do their jobs.
- Finally, the most important one: whoever released the DNC/Podesta emails did US voters a favor by exposing elite corruption and collusion. If Hillary and her lackeys hadn't been so astonishingly corrupt, the "interference" attempt would have been DOA. They're clearly not at all sorry for all the s**t they did that got exposed, they're just mad they got caught.

Couple things. First, I'm not clicking a CNN link. You can archive it if you want. Second, yes, Russia would have plenty to lose by actively making quid pro quo deals with a foreign nation and then having those deals exposed to the world. Russia and the USA are not the only two countries on Earth. Every country has neighbors and relationships with others. They have plenty to lose by having such matters exposed.

>Trump doesn't even have to be an active participant.
By it's definition, Trump would need to personally know about any deal that involved two parties benefiting from mutual action in exchange for a promised reward. That's literally the meaning of collusion. Which brings us back to the original point.

Even in the hypothetical scenario of Russia actually actively intervening in the US election, why would they bother to even tell Trump about it? Acting unilaterally is not the same thing as making backroom deals. The former is simply a smarter move in every way. The whole concept makes no sense.

Furthermore, if the whole idea of Russian meddling is really so important to you, then how do you justify the Uranium One deal?
>>
>>134166738
Later emails show logins from Ukraine.
>>
>>134170822
>That's literally the meaning of collusion.
I'm aware. My point is that the collusion question is the part that's debatable. Russia did interfere in the election, and tried several ways to do it. If Trump knew and let it happen, that's one problem. If he knew and participated, that's a different, bigger problem.

If several members of his staff met with someone with ties to the Russian government because they thought that person had intel, that's malice aforethought, irrespective of what actually happened at the meeting. It's also hard to imagine Trump wasn't at least aware that it happened.

>I'm certain Russia meddled in the election.
>I'm certain

> “Nobody can prove it yet,” the source says.
There's not a single scrap of evidence of interference or meddling in this article. Just a bunch of "this is being investigated."

>That doesn't mean it didn't happen
And it certainly doesn't mean it did happen. And yet you're certain that it did, so you must have some other evidence lying around that no one else has, so show it.

This is the third article you've posted to demonstrate Russian "meddling" and all three have proven you wrong. Once again, if you're "certain" Russia meddled, then you should be able to produce proof, so do so.

If the article is saying "Russian IPs port scanned our server" (if you want me to read you still need to archive) as I understand that story to have been-- again, VPNs are a thing. An IP originating in Russia doesn't mean that the person doing the port scanning was actually Russian, or even a human behind the keyboard. A majority of all cyber attacks originate in the USA. It doesn't mean that it's US citizens making the attack, it just means the server that actually launches the attack resides in the USA.

>"certain" was the wrong word, but "very good reason to believe it is the case" works
How? If there's zero proof, thus you can't be certain of any Russian meddling, how do you have "very good reasons" instead? What are these reasons?

>could in fact overwhelm the targeted search engines that would end up saying on your news feed
Is this it? Is this the dreaded Russian meddling? The one you still have no proof that it occurred, that Russia was involved, or that Trump colluded/coordinated/or was even aware of? This is your "very good reason" to believe Russia "interfered" with the election?

Let's go back to the beginning once more. What are you accusing Russia of doing and what is your proof?

With all due respect to /pol/, Trump has always said he wanted to bring this country together. Calling Dems names isn't going to win anybody over, it's just going to piss them off. If you care about the truth (which I know you do) then just explain it to them directly without emotion. They really believe that Trump betrayed the us, but only because they don't know any better. You do, so teach them. You're autistic enough to have the facts at your disposal. One of those Roman emperors said something to the effect of "truth is like a lion, you don't need to defend it, just let it out and it'll defend itself."

There was never collusion. What does collusion mean? How did they collude?

Anyway, any news report about Russia is exclusively about character assassination. Remember--the far left was LIVID after the election. They kept insisting that Trump wouldn't have won had it not been for Russian hackers, implying that Trump couldn't have won on his own.

It is dead simply because it is taking far to long. The court of public opinion only lasts if you can provide proof, not just 'he said she said' bullshit, also a lot of what can be proven is what the American people expect ALL of our government officials to do ("TRUMP CAUGHT TALKING TO SOMEONE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY, HATE HIM PLS!!!")

https://newrepublic.com/article/143586/trumps-russian-laundromat-trump-tower-luxury-high-rises-dirty-money-international-crime-syndicate

Trump made his first trip to Russia in 1987, only a few years before the collapse of the Soviet Union. Invited by Soviet Ambassador Yuri Dubinin, Trump was flown to Moscow and Leningrad—all expenses paid—to talk business with high-ups in the Soviet command. In The Art of the Deal, Trump recounted the lunch meeting with Dubinin that led to the trip. “One thing led to another,” he wrote, “and now I’m talking about building a large luxury hotel, across the street from the Kremlin, in partnership with the Soviet government.”

Over the years, Trump and his sons would try and fail five times to build a new Trump Tower in Moscow. But for Trump, what mattered most were the lucrative connections he had begun to make with the Kremlin—and with the wealthy Russians who would buy so many of his properties in the years to come. “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross section of a lot of our assets,” Donald Trump Jr. boasted at a real estate conference in 2008. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”

Nah mate, you don't realise how much influence matters in matters of democracy. Doesn't matter what country someone is in, if they hold any influence over someone who IS involved directly, they can indirectly guide that persons view on matters.
I'm not saying they tell someone what way to vote directly, but they can slowly convince someone to see the world through their eyes, and thus make that person more likely to vote as they would.

It's really ironic because there are key parts to the novel where Atwood uses the main character's mother as a mouthpiece for second wave feminism, then openly criticizes the movement through that character. Even alluding to feminism being one of the root causes to the dystopian society. In the novel a zealot twisted it for her and her husbands own means to place control over the underclass
