lighter colored eyes happened because overcast places are very dark to people with darker eyes. you can see much better with lighter eyes. when the man came to europe and lived through the ice age (almost always overcast), a mutation of the eye took hold because it was advantageous. this mutation extended through only european lineages of course . dark eyes are better for sunny ass areas and that's why they formed and stayed that way. colored eyes generally look much more pretty, but white people and eye color have nothing to do with "diversity" in the modern sense. when folks talk about diversity today we understand they're talking about minorities, not people with different backgrounds or experiences or political association or upbringing or education or struggles or attractiveness. no it's only race, which is very weird to me.
