You don't know shit about the music industry.
Artists always ended up broke unless they were the kikes' golden boys. Nothing has changed.
>>
>>134132948
>it killed the small independent guys, the smaller local bands
It didn't really tho. there is more than plenty independent music acts now. Besides, bands get most of their money through merch and live shows(if they are well known enough) . Also a lot small bands themselves give their music for free in digital format and physical formats (such as vinyls, CDs, cassettes) still sell because there is a niche market for it. Also, pirating music can help bands to get known to the rest of the poorfags who can't afford to listen to their shit.
So if pirating music were to hurt anyone it would hurt the big guys the most

I agree, but in this case it was 100% true. The music industry is run by Jews. And these Jews were fed anti-white Marxist propaganda at the ivy league universities which are also run by Jews:

https://thezog.wordpress.com/who-controls-the-ivy-league/

Do you see why people think we're controlled by Jews? Because they make up so many senior executive positions and they were all indoctrinated and taught "white people are responsible for the world's problems and Marxism is the answer" at Jewish-controlled universities.

The second we had the capability to send files over the internet, the music industry was dead. Napster simply pulled the trigger. Blame the music industry, run by old men too arrogant to realize they couldn't do business the way they'd done it since the phonograph was invented. They should have realized the mass distribution potential of the internet when it became popular. Blockbuster Video made the same mistake.

It's pure capitalism like it or not. You don't agree with the ethics behind it maaannnn. Due to music streaming we have more access to more varieties and catalog of music then ever before. As for the artist, if you think getting involved in an art form is a sure way to financial well being you're retarded a very small percentage reach that level. I know plenty of musicians who recorded an album and have it on spotify or iTunes which enables them to reach a world wide audience. Also cd's and vinyl still exist it's just not as profitable.

Well the thing is, rich whites really are spreading anti-minority messages, so blacks and Hispanics are not wrong in that sense. Meanwhile, rich Jews are spreading anti-white messages. We're all controlled by the richest 1%, but the Jews are the ones who control the music industry and they're the ones who want to see white society suffer. So the music industry is anti-white.

>>134135580

If you decide to make music a full time career overnight you are simply retarded. No one decides to be musician and drop their job instantly. Equipement and touring cost money and you don't have any you won't get anywhere. Independent artists had always to struggle from that since the beginning. So if someone nowdays want to get themselves known so the can make creating music their full career, they'll have to distribute their stuff digitally and make it available to the public to consume. Times change and so rules get used to it.

>paid way too much
the free market decides what each person's skill set is worth and pays accordingly. This is as much the case with artists as it is with scientists and McDonald's employees.

It's the same essential argument as people saying they get paid too little and deserve 15 dollars an hour, but in the opposite direction
>>

lol what, not challenged? you seem to be the challenged one here posting so vigorously
I'll elaborate on my previous statement; nobody cares about you or your cause, but furthermore, people who don't pay for music in-general do it being aware that there is a legit way to get the media they desire, but disregard that and follow-suit on sites like KickassTo, YoutubetoMP3, and so on.
You're wasting your time here more so than I am by defending an absurd idea. Yes, paying $20 sweat-earned dollars for a list of songs is absurd, but that gets into a bigger picture there of how the economy is fucked.
*yawn*
>>
Nigger do you know what it was like buying music in the 90's? $17+ CD, can't return once seal broken. Couldn't listen to the shit beforehand (in the late 90s you could scan a cd on a machine and hear 20-30 seconds of a highly compressed track). No international selection in brick and mortar retail stores. Despite what you think of Apple, they were instrumental in bringing down the accepted price of an album in any format after the advent of napster. Music has become a side sale to touring acts. Apple also sports a lossless format option to boot.

Used CD (and book/vidya/DVD) stores were and are where it's at for physical media. Best bang for your buck. Good selection, cheap enough to try out a couple of things. Good return/trade policies. Only sucks if you wanna sell something for cash. Otherwise all win.

Frobes says his 2015 income was $43 million. How big are his royalty checks? I'm sure songs written by others doesn't help income that much.

440 vs 432 is a fucking joke, it has nothing to do with anything besides a slight change in pitch. The difference in tunings is their intervals, not their absolute frequencies.

The real crime is in tuning intervals. We use equal temperament, which just means intervals are always spaced evenly across the board according to the same ratios. This results in the tuning being out of tune, but since it's all equally out of tune, it sounds in-tune.

It makes me want to choke people every time I hear that Pythagorean tuning is 432. No it isn't, the starting pitch means nothing, it's intervals using perfect fifths. Playing music with traditional and mathematical tunings always sounds better, and while they do have their flaws, modern music is worse for not using them.

Right now you can record an award winning album in your bedroom and distribute it to the entire world for essentially nothing

You know why nobody does this?

Because most people are mediocre musicians and do it for the wrong reasons. They expect to put in the bare minimum, get a Facebook and Soundcloud page up, and expect the masses to worship them because they made a thing

There are literally no excuses for a musician these days to be broke or struggling unless they are shit and their talents aren't that great

As a musician myself I can say honestly that musicians are probably the laziest fucking people on earth and among the most entitled

The ones that dedicate themselves to their art and their craft are considered "stuffy and lame". Soundcloud rappers get more praise

From an economic perspective, being a musician is a very high risk strategy, with an overwhelming chance that even if you are one of the few musically brilliant, you will spend most of your life making less than minimum wage per hour.

It may seem different, because the occasional gig seems to pay really good per hour, but you forgot to factor in the scarcity of such gigs, as well as all the hours to be able to do that gig.
>>
>>134158194
Guitar player here. You're right. When you factor in the hours that go into practicing and rehearsing for a gig, travel time to the gig, hauling and setting up your own gear, then tearing it down and hauling it home... the gig itself is actually the smallest part of that. When you factor it in by the hour, we work for peanuts.

Fortunately none of us are deluded enough to think we could play music for a living. It's just something fun to do with friends.

>ctrl-f Telecommunications Act of 1996

The (((music industry))) is alive and well and THIS is what put it in Hebrew hands. It placed HEAVY restrictions on radio broadcasting keeping out small broadcasters from entering the market and allowed single entities to own several stations over the entire nation.

Before this, people broadcasting from their basements wasn't uncommon. Radio was a grassroots, experimental phenomenon done by talented young, independent disc jockeys. After (((broadcasting companies))) owned by (((record labels))) starting buying up stations across the nation, they had full control over what content enters the mainstream and thus what people buy.

The same groups who own these stations now push this music in the mainstream through social media and still have total control over what plays on the radio. This is why no matter where you are in the USA, you have the same fucking classic rock stations, the same country stations, the same exact alt-rock stations, and the same pop stations, all with the same exact fucking playlists.

1996 was the year music died.

My blood boils whenever I see dumb commies or the average folk shitting on the market or capitalism or whatever when one of these fucked up markets gives bad results and then say "but private property still exists so you're wrong".

Same with stormies blaming everything on the juice and ignoring basic facts on how and why it happens in the first place.
