I went to a recruitment drive for the police and the guy who was giving the speech was fairly high ranking, he told me that the whole point of the police is that they are public servants. And yet it has a purpose, people from different communities won't speak to the police if they don't trust them. If the trust is there then people will speak to the police and it drives down crime by increasing convictions.
