Nope. You can loose heat in space quickly if you want by evaporation. Like fo example an ablative heatshield. It doesnt simply get hot it evaporates an cools itself. You need to pump enough energy in to penetrate. The armorded shell could also spin and the object move increasing the area you heat significantly and slowing down penetration. At the same time you use probably about 10 times as much energy to power the laser and need to dump that energy aswell or simply overheat. A military spaceship likely wont have explosive fuel but use inert water as fuel in combination with a nuclear thermal engine. Wich means you need to hit the exact right places. Space warfare belongs to highpowered projectile weapons like railguns on disposable drones. And nuclear missiles thrown around like candy.
